The Philippines remains the underdog of the international community: Often neglected, and not given too much attention.
Now, we all know to solve that problem: Only through UNLEARNING what was taught by the older generation about taboo topics, such...

Legalizing it, or rather re-instituting it (it was abolished in 1950) will never suffice, without FIRST, supporting the necessary reforms.
Amending the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines is the only way for divorce to be re-instituted in the Civil Code. Remember, you can never ever go wrong in changing the system of government, since this shall instill real discipline towards people who work in the government.
The only way for divorce to be LESS abused, is to implement PROVISIONS, such as discouraging gold-diggers to DEMAND for more alimony from their ex-husbands. How?
Only through amending the so-called "National Patrimony," where the so-called economic protectionism" clause is found, which deprives foreign investors from creating jobs for the locals.
If foreign investors wouldn't be discouraged to provide more jobs to the locals, by REPEALING that certain provision (60% owned by Filipinos, 40% owned by foreigners), there will be much LESS tendencies of gold-digging from ex-wives.
Divorce should teach not only FREEDOM, self-love, and respect, but also DISCIPLINE at the same time.
It takes an immense amount of discipline to make libertarian laws, an actual reality: The less disciplined society is, the less they deserve laws that are rather libertarian (a concept wherein sure, we can provide for you, but we respect your personal choices, privacy, and boundaries).
Why of all things, DISCIPLINE? Banning divorce will only make things much worse. The lack of divorce, only teaches people to be more corrupt, and LIE to themselves. Illicit relationships become normalized and tolerated at the same time, because a legal remedy remains ABSENT.
Only divorce can bring back the DIGNITY of couples from a BROKEN marriage. In short, DIVORCE fixes broken marriages.
Being trapped in an unhappy marriage will only make your life miserable.
Banning divorce, is similar to SUPPORTING life imprisonment towards innocent people. Allowing divorce, is SUPPORTING self-love, bringing back confidence, and dignity towards people who want to simply MOVE ON from an unhappy marriage. So if you say, "move on already!" but you are against divorce, then you yourself are [probably] the problem.
This is why, American-style Protestantism brought by the American occupation in the Philippines, brought MORE harm than good in Philippine society.
American-style conservatism through their version of the Protestant Christian faith, is basically derived from their belief that the so-called "rupture," or the second coming of Jesus Christ is for real. That is why, Philippine Divorce Advocates for Constitutional Reform, is advocating instead for CONFUCIANISM.
Confucianism teaches real discipline.
Confucianism has proven to be a superior philosophy throughout the course of time. First of all, it supports women empowerment, the LGBT community, and eugenics at the same time. It is actually against illicit relationships, so you will see less mistresses, cheaters, and homewreckers in Confucian societies, as compared to societies that adhere towards American-style Protestantism where such things [promoting decadence], alongside incest and inbreeding are tolerated.
Look where Confucianism has brought certain countries: They have railways, especially the coveted futuristic bullet trains. Meanwhile, American-style Protestantism (Murican Prot) still remains car-dependent, as they still have this obsession towards SUVs as status symbols, [rather] than useful tools.
That is why, don't blame certain members of the CoRRECT Movement who have strong admiration towards the People's Republic of China: They have bullet trains, and of course, great technology. Who doesn't want that, right?
What did American-style Protestantism contribute to the Philippines?
American-style Protestantism in predominantly Catholic Philippines brought nothing but rather, third-world practices towards Filipinos. Remember, the American occupation was a double-edged sword, so why extra two (2) years in secondary school (K-12) didn't exist until 2014, and divorce was abolished in 1950, is NO THANKS to such practices, of course led by the Philippine elites, who still remain "slaves" toward Uncle Sam.
That's how car-dependent, and being barriotic nativist the Philippines has become: No thanks to American colonial legacy!
Contrary to popular belief, the Marcoses didn't even bother to "Make the Philippines Great Again."
The Marcoses were simply beneficiaries of the American occupation: Even though there were opportunities to IMPROVE, and REVISE the education system of the Philippines, and re-institute absolute divorce in the Civil Code, the people's IQ simply lowered down especially when President Marcos Sr. himself declared Martial Law, originally to curb the growing number of communist rebels in the country.
Since some people who support divorce support the Marcoses... well, you'll learn later on in the coming chapters, how constitutional reforms, NOT the Marcoses' return to power in Malacañang, shall "Make This Nation Great Again."
