It's a nice and sunny day in MidCal—or not. What could possibly be happening up there?! Flashes of light and shadow compete overhead.
It seems the Sun wants today to be warm and bright, while Mr. Storm Cloud argues that the plants and wildlife need the rain. They bicker back and forth, each giving reasons why they're right.
The Sun says the people have things to do, and they need him shining above.
Mr. Storm Cloud says it's his time, for the land needs hydration—everyone has been waiting nearly two weeks for a drink.
How will they ever figure it out? The people need the Sun, but the wildlife needs the rain. Both are important.
A bird passing through spits out an idea: "Why not just share the day?" And then he flies away.
Mr. Storm Cloud and the Sun look at each other. "Hey—that's a grand idea!"
So Mr. Storm Cloud subsides in the morning, letting the Sun warm the people. And when the Sun begins to settle, he rolls in with the rain.
The people are happy, doing outdoor activities. Later the animals come out for a drink, and the plants stand tall again, no longer puckered.
All they needed was a partly cloudy day, with a chance of rain.
