Thank you for selecting this short story. The Price of Remaining Silent is my entry novel for the 2025 Ever- Generating Story Awards otherwise known as the -> TEGSA 2025
As listed, this is written for mature audiences only, so please note that there will be some animal abuse and violence toward the end. I don't go into further detail on each subject, but this note is a warning to those who have a soft heart toward these aspects.
As this is my first time participating in this contest based on different songs, I did my best in each chapter. This story is about adoption, reunions, man's best friend (a dog) and yes, I had to add something evil as there is a gang lingering by in almost every town these days.
I am an 80's music fanatic, so on top of this page is one of my favorite Canadian singers, Brian Adams. As the words state "Here I am" ... it's the beginning of a new story!
Lastly, in the end, I have included a playlist and a brief synopsis on how I used each song as a theme for the chapter.
