The tree that should've withered in the last days of winter miraculously blossomed in the spring.
In simpler terms, Kite had finally transformed into someone he had once only dreamed off.
Despite wearing red goggles, the world appeared clear as day. Every angle and aspect of it. That's why Cain's illusions held no water. He could perceive and process movements almost like a fly (or at least that is how much he understood his ability) and make his way to victory.
The victory came with a question, was everything over? It was still a question because of two reasons, First because it was Loki, 2nd because it was Loki. Predicting his next move was futile.
Yet like the fall of an executioner's blade came his judgement, one reeking of anger and vengeance.
"Due to taking outside help, kite kelner is officially disqualified making cain the victor." Loki stated.
"Do you take us for fools?!" Prizzly yelled.
His words were good as a paper boat in a river, useless. Loki rubbed the blood sipping down his cheek from the cut kite gave him, "I'm being as fair as I could be, your pieces lack the modesty to fight fairly, not my problem." Prizzly gave him a look that clearly said 'just wait til I find you in a dark alley someday', when hel held him back.
"What were you expecting of them, prince?" Hel holds prizzly still, steadying his red tie. "They, especially that guy (she points at Loki), are not known to play fair games. He is a trickster." Hel gave Loki an empty look, who simply smirked like a troll in return, "I'll take that as a compliment."
Pluto smiled softly, dusting the mud off his coat.
Loki caught this subtle gesture, 'His smile tells me that if anything, this guy wanted to continue this battle, he wanted this outcome.' Loki's dark thoughts seeped into his glare, "Just who is he?" making him more aware of pluto's presence now.
Orin couldn't be more delirious at this outcome. "Then it means we get to catch some little ugly demons right?" Loki nodded and Orin moved when the stretch of a string vibrated like a hymn, Kite had assumed position again, aimed at Loki.
"Don't think we'll surrender so easily."
He stretched harder as Loki used a handkerchief to wipe the blood on his face while at the same time, secretly signals Thor to attack. "kite was it? Seems like the legacy has boosted your ego more than your ability, but you should realise that it's neither too rare nor special in useless hands—Legacies are just a mixed mass of spells, It by no means makes one invincible so I'd recommend acting accordingly; you know what the elders say?—" Thor assumes a pose as if trying to throw something "—Feed your ego, and it eventually swallows you whole." Within an instant, Thor sends the hammer flying at kite, pluto realising it too late—fails to catch it, not that he could've stopped it either.
The silver hammer flies like a comet that was sure to end Kite's life when like a wall, Cain stands infront of kite and blocks the attack with his shields, redirecting it towards the sky, saving Kite's life, who stumbled back to his butt.
Which reminded kite of the day cain saved him from the falling wooden fence.
They hadn't changed. Time had. The situation had put them on opposite sides without asking what they felt. Cain's arm felt sluggish, the aftereffects of the attack causing more blood to flow from his shoulder wound. "C-cain?" Kite whispered as cain turned and without a warning, landed a kick to his jaw, sending him rolling back, making others think he'd gone mad. First he protects then attacks?
Cain inhaled strongly, filling his lungs with air. "I-I haven't lost yet! The duel's not over! And whoever dares to interrupt us would have to be ready for death!" He yelled when suddenly, his voice died in his throat and color drained from his face. A drop of blood fell on Kite's face and when he looked up, he saw a spear, entering from cain's back to his chest, letting the crimson liquid flow freely.
