"sweetheart are you okay?" my mom asked next to me at the passenger seat, I sighed in frustration not wanting to talk to her anymore.

"yeah mom Im fine, I just dont want to talk right now" I said driving a little faster.

"listen sweetie, Im sorry that I did that to your friend I-" she said but I stoped her from continuing.

"mom its okay I get it it's fine, he's just a friend it's alright now can you please just stop talking". She went quiet then turned around looking at her window.

"uhh.. hey kayla" my brother aiden said at the back. I looked at the mirror and looked at him.

"yeah sweetie?" I asked him with a smile on my face, he smiled as well then relaxed a bit

"I just wanted to say that I got an A on my test today" he said I smiled at him proud.

"well that's wonderful sweetie"I said still looking at him. He smiled then looked at the road the his face suddenly turned shock.

"kayla watch out!!"he said. I quickly turned around and saw a truck heading our way fast. I turned to the right but we only hit the tree and everthing became a blur.

I woke up in a bed with a dextrose in the back of my hand. I was in the hospital.

I looked around the private room and saw my father looking at the mirror like he was enjoying the citys he ruled for the first time.

"father?" I said, he turned around looking at me like he wants to hit me.

"wheres aiden and mom?" I asked, he then walked next to my bed then gave me two papers then walked away looking at the window again.

"whats this?"

"read it" he said not looking at me. I did what I was told then looked at the papers.

The first page was a deed to a house with a picture on it. It was actually a beautiful house . The next page was a death certificate?

I quickly looked at the name and it read: elizabeth caston. what?

A tear suddenly fell on my eyes and my heart was beating fast. I looked at my father again.

"m-moms dead?" I asked a little bit raspy

"thats what the papers say right?" he asked quiet, he turned around and looked at me.

"you know where your brother is right now?" he asked. I shook my head.

"the doctors are checking him right now if he has bone cancer" he said.that made me cry even more I covered ny mouth and closed my eyes. Why?

"father Im so sorry" I said crying he shook his head

"sorry wont bring her back kayla..."

I looked down.

" you know I can accept the fact that aiden has bone cancer because he's inherited but for your mom!!" he said a tears went down my eyes and he continued.

"that's why Im going to give you this house"

I looked up at him confused "what?"

"by the time you leave this hospital, pack your bags and leave" he said as he took his things
