For those of you who are wondering what ability exactly, it's called apport. It's the ability to switch an item with another item of equal value or at least close to its value.
But then again, he doesn't exactly know how much any of this stuff was worth. And he couldn't really risk just apporting any item from here.
But he's broke. So it was his plan B if Ratchet and the others really decided to starve him.
"Well, we won't know if we don't try. And I can assure you, I'll be fine." Just let me drink water already.
"Hrm, I suppose you're right." Ratchet reluctantly relented. "Since you do seem to have powers, let's just hope that being able to handle and adapt to a brand new environment in a different world is one of them."
Ratchet turned to the trio on the couch that was still playing video games and cleared his intake loudly to get their attention. Raf was only spectating Miko and Jack as they competitively played.
Miko got momentarily distracted by Ratchet trying to get their attention and Jack immediately used that to his advantage to win.
"What? No fair!" Miko cried out. "You distracted me!" She glared pointedly at Ratchet who just raised an optical ridge in response.
"I'm sure your little... games can wait." Ratchet rolled his optics. "I need one of you to go fetch one of your new friends a bottle of water. He needs it."
"What? No way I'm doing anything after you just made me lose!" Miko complained as she threw her hands up slightly in the air, the video game controller falling onto her lap as the television's screen lit up with the words 'GAME OVER' on Miko's side.
Well, I can tell she's a handful. Hopefully I don't have to end up babysitting any of them.
"It's okay to not be good at something, Miko." Jack reassured Miko with a smug grin on his face, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Jack is taller than me, but he doesn't seem to be much older than me. Saiki thought as he observed the three.
I am 17, technically 20. I guess. If you know, you know.
"You're going to regret saying that." Miko glared at him, shrugging off the hand that Jack placed on her shoulder.
"I can go grab one for you, Ratchet." Raf piped into the conversation with a raise of his hand, accompanied by a small smile.
Raf, I think, doesn't seem to be that bad. But he's just slightly better than the other two.
The features on Ratchet's faceplate noticeably softened at Raf's words. "That would be very much appreciated, Raf. Thank you."
Wow, I wonder which one Ratchet prefers the most. Saiki commented sarcastically in his mind as he continued to watch them.
Raf then got off the couch to go grab the bottle of water just as Miko reached for her controller and held in her hands again, angrily demanding a very smug looking Jack for a rematch.
Ratchet then turned his back on the trio to face Saiki again, "Raf should be back shortly with that water. For now, just sit tight and-" Ratchet's words were interrupted by the noise of a vehicle making its way into the base.
"Ah, impeccable timing." Ratchet said as he turned to look at the vehicle that had eventually slowed to a stop.
Saiki also turned to look at the vehicle that arrived, and walked over as well. Looking down curiously, though his expression remained unchanged.
Is the Mrs. Darby that Ratchet kept mentioning finally here?
The doors of the car then opened with a quiet click and a person got out of the car.
