"Where have you two been?" Pansy asked, looking between Seraphina and Theo with a knowing smirk. She was just glad that Seraphina hadn't taken off in the other direction at the sight of them as she had been recently. She was beginning to think that they were all being punished for Mattheo and Theo's spat with her.

"Down by the Black Lake," Seraphina said, looking over at Pansy with the brightest smile she had seen from her in days.

"Look at you in a good mood for once," Pansy said to her.

"I'll be in an even better mood if I'm not late for Arithmancy. I'll see you guys at lunch, alright?" Seraphina said, walking backwards toward the direction of her classroom.

"Oh, will you be gracing us with your presence then?" Daphne said mockingly.

"Very funny, but yes." She laughed before turning around. She didn't even make it two steps before she collided with someone in front of her.

"You know, pet, you really should pay attention to where you're going. It's becoming quite the habit." Evan said with a low chuckle.

Seraphina immediately turned red as he reached out to steady her. "Sorry." She said sheepishly.

"I've been looking everywhere for you. I thought we were meeting after your class this morning?" he asked, and Seraphina's stomach dropped. She had completely forgotten that she had made plans with Evan. She had gotten so wrapped up in talking with Theo that it skipped her mind entirely.

"I forgot, I'm so bloody sorry. I just got to talking with Theo and lost track of the time." Seraphina admitted that she glanced over her shoulder at where her friends were still standing.

"That's alright, why don't we go talk about it?" he asked as he ran his hand through her hair.

Seraphina paused for a moment, turning a deep shade of red. "I would love that, but I'm going to be late for Arithmancy." She said to him,

Evan clicked his tongue and nodded a little, "We'll talk on the way then," he said, slinging his arm around her shoulders.

"Why on earth are you bothering that class? It's a complete bore," he said as they started walking.

"It's her favorite class," Mattheo muttered, moving to walk past them all, sick of them just standing there and gawking at Evan and Seraphina. He would rather be anywhere else but here, subjected to their presence, than any longer.

"That's your favorite class?" Evan said, looking back at her with a raised eyebrow.

Seraphina shot Mattheo a glare, surprised more than annoyed that he had said anything. She looked back up at Evan, shaking her head.

"Charms is my favorite class." She corrected, but knew that Mattheo was right; it probably was her favorite class. She never talked about it that way because, like Evan had done, most people called it a bore.

"No, it's not. You just tell people it is so we don't make fun of you." Mattheo said, walking past her.

Seraphina just went even redder, and she felt the anger build in the bit of her stomach. "Piss off, Riddle." She said as she and Evan started walking away. That was the most she had said to him in weeks, and it wasn't lost on Mattheo; he halted slightly as she said his name. He looked back at her for a moment, just to be sure that he was actually speaking to her.

"Why would that be your favorite?" Evan asked, looking down at her, not bothering to throw even a glance in Mattheo's direction.

"Because she wants to be a Curse Breaker," Mattheo called over his shoulder matter-of-factly before he started walking again. He wasn't sure why he said anything at all. Evan, not knowing that simple fact about her for whatever reason, was enough to send him over the edge. Maybe it was because it was the closest he had been to her in weeks, he just couldn't help butting in. He had said it before he had even had time to think about what he was doing.

Pansy reached up to cover her laugh as both Daphne and Astoria looked back at her, as an embarrassed Seraphina walked away with Evan whispering into her ear.

"What are you on about?" Astoria asked her curiously.

"Them, it's bloody maddening to witness." She laughed, looking back over at her.

"What's really maddening is Mattheo's obliviousness every time they're in the same room," Enzo interjected.

"You both might as well be speaking in riddles at this point," Daphne told them both.

"All I'm saying is Mattheo really bloody hates Rosier," Pansy said with a smile.

"I don't think he can hate him any more than Nott," Astoria told her, but Enzo shook his head.

"Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that, Greengrass," Lorenzo said with a smirk.
