[Austin's P.O.V]

I saw Meg standing at her locker, this was the perfect opportunity to go up to her. For some reason I liked the way I made her nervous, I make many people nervous and that's one of the reasons I love messing with these preppy girls.
As I was approaching her I saw her head turn in my direction, by the look on her face I couldn't tell what she was thinking. "Meg isn't it?"
"Look I'm sorry about hitting you the other day but I don't know what else you want."
"Oh how cute you think everybody wants something from you, like you're so perfect us common people MUST need something from you."
Girls like her piss me off, just because you THINK you are perfect doesn't mean you can push everyone else down. After I said that her mouth just hung open. "I...uh..."
The bell rang and I promptly walked away, if only she could see the other side of things.

School was boring and I spent most of my day drawing different things in my notebook. Although school maybe boring it is my escape from home. I left the school and as I was walking out of the parking lot I saw Meg standing by her brothers car staring at me, I was tempted to go over there but I couldn't, if I was late my mother would kill me.

I got home and opened the front door. As I stepped in the house my foot collided with a paper bag, I guess my mom went "shopping" again.
"HEY, HEY AUSTIN" I heard my mom yell from the living room. I walked into the room, she was slumped on the couch with a bottle of god knows what in her hand. "Yeah mom"
"Your sisters at a friends so don't stay down here a wait for her she's not coming home...just like your father." She slurred her words so bad I was hard to take it as an insult. You see my mom wasn't always like this, it started when my dad left when I was 12 and my sister was 8. For the first few months after my dad left my mom mostly blamed us for it but In reality they just fell out of love. My mom never really dealt with the pain of it so she resorted to drinking. It was hard to find a time where my mom was sober so no one ever came to our house and she never left. I went to my room closing the door behind me. I figured I would call my sister just to make sure that she was ok.
"Hey Emma"
"Oh hey Austin, yes I'm ok I'm just staying at Heather's tonight"
I laughed a little
"Ok just checking in have fun"
"Ok bye bye"
I try to shield Emma away from my mom as much as I can but I know she sees what's happening.

I went out to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat, we almost never had food in the house unless I went and got it. I was about to open the fridge when I heard a thud come from the living room. I went to see what it was and of course my mom was lying on the floor passed out. I picked her up and took her to her room and set her on the bed. This was getting old...
