She raised an eyebrow challengingly, I scrunch up my nose in discomfort.

"Ya but this one is kinda a mishmash of all my bad feelings lately, with Poppy and the boys. So it feels more raw."

Luka practices with the band across the room. He's truly in his element, strumming the guitar, picking out the cords that work and scribbling out the ones that don't on sheet paper. This is where I discovered I find him most attractive, when he's relaxed. Content with being with friends and enjoying the music. My eyes track up his hands where they sit on the guitar to his blue hair, the color grown out at the root in a way only he can rock.

"Can I read the lyrics at least?"

Marinette pulls me out of my blue screen moment, and I hesitate for a moment. This song isn't one I would ever introduce to the group as an addition to the new album. It isn't a pop song or an up beat break up tune.

If my past songs were written from hurtful experiences this was the equivalent of reading my therapy notes. So it's safe to say that it won't be dawning a stage any time soon.

After a large pause I pass her the book hesitantly, it hasn't been in someone else's hands since last summer on tour. She takes it into her hands as if it could disintegrate into dust, carefully reading through each line.

As her eyes travel across the page I feel my body start to sweat, I haven't felt exposed like this with my music since our band first started out. She hums a bit, and looks up to meet my eyes.

"You have to sing this, these lyrics are beautiful. You have such a way with words."

I chuckle at her cheerfulness.

"I think it's a bit depressing for the atmosphere."

She hands me my notebook but holds my hand with her other hand as I take it from her. I look at her questioningly for a beat before recognizing the seriousness of her expression.

"It is okay to feel sad. Especially when something is going on in your life that you have no control over. But you can control how you react to it-"

She lets go of my hand and it feels like gravity tugs it to my lap quicker then it should. Marinette's blue eyes are striking when she is in a mood like this, but she always gives the best advice so I can't find myself looking away.

"-what I am trying to say is don't let these feelings consume you. Let them out."

I glance down at the note book, biting the inside of my mouth a bit in debate. Taking a deep breath I release some of the tension from my shoulders.

"Fine."

"Let's go!"

The pigtailed girl fistbumps the air loudly, practically dropping her sewing project in the process. Out of the corner of my eye I spot a few of the band members turning to look at her reaction.
