Prologue

Perfect People Bleed Too

Aurelia vanished.
And no one’s allowed to talk about it.

We all know what happened.. or at least parts of it.
We were there when they found her locker empty.
We saw the blood near the bathroom sink.
We saw the panic in the eyes of the headmistress before she smiled and said,
“She’s transferred.”

Bellwood doesn’t lose students.
It covers things up.

The announcements stopped mentioning her.
Her seat stayed empty for one day.
By the next, they had a new student, new roster, new lie.

But I remember Aurelia.

Not just the way she spoke- fast, direct, always five steps ahead..
but what she was investigating.
She had files. Names. Printed screenshots.
She said someone was running something behind the walls of Bellwood.
Said she had proof.
Said she was scared.

And now?
She’s gone.
And we’re all pretending that makes sense.

I tried asking questions once.
Once.
They called me “emotional.” Gave me detention.
Told my parents I was “unstable.”

So I stopped asking.
But I never stopped watching.

Someone in this academy knows what happened to Aurelia.
And I’m going to make them talk.

Because Bellwood hides its crimes under uniforms and gold-plated discipline.
But I’m done being quiet.

And if they come for me next?

Let them.

Perfect people bleed too.
