Everyone listened to him, and once his speech was over there were nods of agreement. I was honestly shocked at how well that yellow suited speakerman managed to control the crowd. Compared to my leader who would barely sign. One by one everyone climbed out of the crater, I chose not to do a spectacle this time and climbed out with everyone else.
When I reached the top that same yellow suited cameraman came up to me and shook my hand. "Thank you, things could've gotten worse if it weren't for you."
I nodded, "Listen, I know about your sentence and whatever it was, you saved our lives. These people look up to you, and I'm sure that the Alliance will offer another hearing based off of your actions today."
I looked at the ground, 'you think so?'
"I know so." He patted my shoulder.
I had an invisible smile on my face, I nodded and fell back with the rest of the group as we started walking to the Alliance base. As we walked through the city I couldn't help but feel sad. There was so much destruction and lost history, I saw what looked like a restaurant and it made me wonder what kind of food they served?
That woman and child I saved from before, was this place her home? Where would they even go now, is there any place that's safe? I'm sure the Alliance is doing their best, but to allow so much destruction feels wrong.
While I was sulking I didn't notice a polka-dot wearing speakerman staring at me. When I did notice I gave him a friendly wave, he ignored it and slowly looked away. Internally, I laughed awkwardly before shoving my hand away.
Speakerman #555 saw this and cooled his pace to chat with me, "don't mind him, he's... bitter about something."
'Bitter about what?' I asked.
He shrugged, "couldn't tell ya."
"Since we have some free time I might as well explain what we were doing here." He looked at me before continuing to see if I obliged.
I didn't and he spoke. "The Alliance has been desperate for a victory for a while now, so they ordered my squad leader and a cameraman yellow cap bearer to make some kind of offensive and score any type of victory."
"During our investigation for an easy victory, we discovered that the city held an old Alliance base under some building. We had plans to get it up and running, but during our infiltration of the base the building collapsed and trapped the yellow capped cameraman and some his guys inside." He said.
"We also activated an unknown trap and alerted the Astro's, we were under siege for a little bit before they suddenly pulled away. A little bit after they did, you showed up with Titan TV man." He finished.
'Is that why everyone is so ready to get back to the Alliance, so we can rescue our trapped allies?' I asked.
He nodded, "of course, we don't leave anyone behind."
Hearing him say that lifted my mood up a little bit. He suddenly clasped his hands together, "I forgot, introductions are in order."
"I can't speak for everyone so I'll only tell you about my squad." He said.
"Like I said earlier, the one leading us is my squad leader, Yellow speakerman. The one who keeps looking back at you with the polka-dot outfit is unsurprisingly Polka-Dot speakerman. But the other two..." he went silent.
"Are trapped with the cameraman, but there names are speakerman #108 and speakerman #6438." He was now a little sad.
I patted his shoulder as comfort but then my lens shot up. 'If it's not big deal, I can run back to the city real quick and free them!'
