14:Our way back

Jay's POV:

" Now you will use your exemplary brain and tell me how do we get out of here?" He screamed in my ears

I actioned my hands as fanning on his face and said " I am also a human at the end,"

" Are you?, are you human at all?" His tone was getting higher and higher

" I saved you sir, mind your tone at me" I said boldly looking into his eyes

" Oh then please save me from here too, ma'am" He said pointing at me

"Why don't we break the glass of a window and get inside the car" I suggested

" Don't you dare touch my car," He answered me back even more angry

" Let's just walk till we get lift from some passer-by" I said trying to keep myself calm..

" Do you even know how far we are right now from the house?" He asked me but honestly, He didn't need any answer because he knew , we fucked up

I lowered my neck and turned my head left right innocently and muttered slowly " He must be inspired from Severous snape, what does he think of me then? Harry?"

" Stop it , I can hear you" , He held my hand and shifted me to the other side of the road himself covering me from the cemented side ," Let's go now before it gets darker"

It was not far away, only halfway 👉👈 that I realised my ring was missing, panic surged through me as I called his name

"Kiefer'..."

"What now?" He asked sensing a new trouble

" I...I think my ring fell while fighting.." I said while showing my empty ring finger to him

" YOUUUUUU" He brushed his fingers through his hairs in anger, only if I was not a girl, I swear I can imagine myself getting punched by him ..

" I am sorry please but we have to go back" I said while holding his hands in my grip , in case he looses himself beyond control..

" I will buy you another let's go home " He said

" No, I don't believe in replacing things, it was given to me by mom and I want to cherish it my entire life," I said this time without letting myself affected by his temper..

He looked at me and turned back, " Are you planning to stay here , let's go back"

I smiled at him which was not reciprocated back,
Anyways we walked back and I tried searching for my ring, it was already dark..

We searched a lot but didn't get it, On the other side of the road was a thick forest, I thought maybe

it could have fallen there when one of the boys were trying to drag me..

So I just stepped out of the road boundary to search without torch, the clumsy me who couldn't see well with light had guts to do that..

Eventually I bumped into a rock and fell

"Ouchhhh" I groaned in pain

he came up to me and said " Are you mad? Do you plan to die just for a stupid ring"

I couldn't hold anymore, " It's not stupid, you are stupid ; always scolding me"

And started sobbing..

He bent down checking on my twisted ankle " still holding on to that ring?" This time he was polite..
I nodded shamelessly

He stood up and slammed his car window, unlocked it and carried me in bridal style,

No my heart again thumping like I was on a adventurous mission.

He made me sit on the passenger seat, took my phone and turned on the torch searching for it..
After almost an hour he found it..

He approached me, " Here," and made me wear it again.. blinking in the dark night sky..

Without wasting any time he started the car engine and we were again on our way to home..

" Your knuckles got hurt, Only if you had brain you would've used a rock instead of bare hands" I said confidently

" Yeah Only if I had a brain, I would've dumped you there in the forest with animals, leaving all my troubles with them"

" Am I your problem?" I pouted

" Still hold doubts?" He grinned at his might

I shut my mouth for a while and then

"Thank you for respecting my decision and sorry that your car got damaged because of me" I said while he was busy focusing on road..

He did not answer, just glanced at me and continued driving..

" So ? You had lunch with your friend, how was it?"

" Huh? How did you know?" I was surprised, Did he work secretly for Crime Investigation services too
But I did not commit any crime

" I have my ways," He smirked at me ..
Aha back to his usual self , just sometime ago this guy was fuming, ready to explode..

" I was with Shawn , he has been my best friend ever since we were young, treats me just like a little sister"

And with this I got reminded of what Shawn had said earlier and then glanced at the man who tolerated me the entire evening.

I took my phone in my hands and typed a message

Message to: Shawn the idiot
~ You were wrong ~

I looked out of the window , even if it was darker out there but inside it was brighter not enough to trust myself compeltely but enough to befriend him.
