Sierra walked into the President's office, her knees trembling. She was about to meet the President, the actual President! She thought she was in trouble when her foster parents had her arrested a few years back, but she knew she was in deep trouble now. Sierra was the type of girl who could never fit in no matter how hard she tried, she would try to socialize, but their thoughts became to loud, almost all of them were about how odd she was. She excelled past other kids in school, she had already graduated high school, so she always got made fun of for that. Her foster family always seemed so nice at first, until they found out about her powers, then they would exclude her and eventually find excuses to kick her out. It was never this bad. She stood in the middle of the room, not sure of what to do. Suddenly, a man walked in. A man she saw on the news sometimes, the president. "Hello Sierra, could you please sit here? I would like to talk to you." He said calmly. He knew she could read minds, so he tried to keep his thoughts calm. She sat in front of him. "Poor girl, I feel so bad for her." She heard him think. "Would you care for something to drink? Are you hungry?" He asked. She shook her head. "Ok,well the reason I called you hear today is because...." He began. "Is it because of my abilities? Did the Smiths turn me in? They said I was a freak didn't they?" She began to get upset, she was very sensitive. "No, they didn't say you were a freak, they actually believed you were special, they believed that you needed to be around people like you." He explained. "People like me?" Sierra didn't know of any other freaks like her. "Sierra, are you familiar with the Justice League?" The President asked. "Yeah, the heroes that have saved the world a few times, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman.....why?" She asked. "I have contacted them, and they have agreed to take you in, train you, and probably make you a part of their team. Would you be ok with this?" He asked her. She seemed shocked at first, she never thought that someone as great as the Justice League would take her in. "Yeah, I just can't believe it." She smiled a little bit, this was the best thing to happen to her. She ran her finger over the carvings in her necklace out of habit. "That a cool necklace. What is that written in it?" The president asked, trying to make conversation with her. "Thank you, I'm not really sure. My mom gave it to me before she died." Sierra explained, and that's when their was a beep from one of the many telephones on the President's desk. He pressed a button on it. "Yes?" He asked. "Mr. President, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Martian Manhunter are here to see you." A woman's voice said over the speaker. "Alright, send them in please, thank you  Carrie." Soon, the door opened and Sierra could barely look up she was so nervous. The President got up and shook hands with all three of the superheroes Sierra never thought she would see up close. She couldn't help but to stare at all of them, she was amazed. Superman looked at her and smiled. "You must be Sierra, hello I am Kal-El, also known as Superman." He held his hand out to Sierra, and she stood up and took it, shaking it happily. She couldn't believe she was shaking hands with Superman. She smiled the biggest smile she had in years. "Hello Sierra, I am Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman." Wonder Woman returned the smile and handshake. "Nice to meet you Sierra, I am Jo'nn J'onzz, Martian Manhunter." Jo'nn's eyes were kind as they met Sierra's, she couldn't help but get lost in them a bit as she shook his hand. "It was nice seeing you Mr. President, now Sierra please follow us. We are going to be taking Wonder Woman's invisible jet." Superman explained. Sierra followed behind Wonder Woman, feeling nervous. "I hope I don't mess this up like I did so many other things." She thought to herself. "You won't. I believe you will do fine." She recognized the voice as Jo'nn. "You can...speak to me this way? How?" "I am able to read minds and communicate telepathically just like you. You aren't a freak like you think you are, there are other people out there who are just like you, they have just been trained more then you have." Sierra couldn't believe it, the Justice League is going to help her! Jo'nn helped her into the jet and she took a seat next to him as Wonder Woman took the pilot's seat and Superman sat shotgun. The jet took off, and the flight began in silence, until Superman decided to break it. "So, Sierra, are you wanting to become a part of the Justice League? Will you be able to use your powers for good?" Superman asked Sierra. "Of course, I never thought I would use my powers otherwise. I will save people, and not kill anyone unless it's absolutely necessary." Sierra said. She never liked the idea of killing anyone, not even her dad despite of what he tried to do to her. "Your father is still alive?" Jo'nn asked in her head. "Yes, but I don't really like talking about him." She responded. "Oh, I apologize." "No, it's fine, it might be nice to talk to someone else about what happened." She never really had anyone to talk to, but Jo'nn seemed like a nice guy. He seemed like a person who would listen. "Ok, you can when you're ready." "My father hated the idea of me having powers for some reason, he never explained why. He tried to strangle me when I showed him my shapeshifting powers. If it weren't for me fighting back and running away for help, I would've died." She sat in silence, she never told anyone this. "I'm glad he didn't kill you, you seem like a nice person." She looked at him, no one has ever told her that before. "Thank you. No one has ever told me that before." She smiled at him, and he smiled back.
