The day had begun like any other in the quiet mountain village. Gentle morning light bathed the thatched rooftops and dirt roads in a golden hue. Children's laughter echoed through the fields as they played with wooden toys and chased one another around the blossoming peach trees. A young girl, no more than ten, ran barefoot through the grass, her long braid swaying as she giggled with her younger siblings. Nearby, their mother stirred a bubbling pot over a fire, the savory scent of stew curling through the air. Their father had just returned from the forest, bundles of chopped wood strapped to his back, his face lined with sweat but lit with peace.

It was a perfect moment of harmony.

Until the sky changed.

A sound-low, thunderous, and unnatural-rolled across the heavens. The clouds darkened, swirling into shades of crimson and violet. A strange wind swept over the village, stilling birds in flight and rustling leaves with unnatural force. The ground trembled beneath their feet.

Then they saw him.

A gaping tear split the sky, and from it descended the Demon Lord, cloaked in black and crimson armor, his long horns arching like a crown of shadow. His eyes burned red with cruel delight, and behind him stretched an endless legion of demonic beasts, their shrieks and snarls echoing like death songs.

The villagers froze in terror.

"I am the rightful ruler of all realms!" the Demon Lord's voice roared like thunder. "Submit to me, or be turned to ash!"

And so began the massacre.

Demons descended like a plague, ripping through the village with tooth and claw. Those who resisted were slaughtered. Blood soaked the earth. The girl, clinging to her mother's robes, could barely comprehend the chaos. Screams filled the air-of pain, of fear, of dying hope.

Then, light cracked through the sky.

The clouds parted once more, and golden rays spilled forth like waterfalls of divine flame. From above descended the celestial legions-armored gods and radiant goddesses, their blades drawn, their expressions solemn. At their head rode a figure wreathed in light: the Heavenly Emperor Wu Shuang.

His silver robes flowed like river mist, and his presence calmed even the trembling earth. Behind his golden eyes lay unshakable power, a calm forged in eternity.

The Demon Lord sneered. "So, the dog of heaven comes to bark."

Wu Shuang did not flinch. "You've caused enough bloodshed. Today I will send you back into your eternal prison!"

Their clash split the heavens.

Blinding blasts of power struck the mountains. Divine light clashed with dark flame. The sky raged. The earth split. Screams and howls of war echoed through the realms.

In the chaos, the little girl's parents pull their children, to go to safety.

All of the people there run to save their lives.

Tears blurred the girl's vision as she and her siblings fled. Behind them, explosions shook the mountainside. The clash of divine and demonic power tore through the land, fracturing the very earth. Bolts of light and shadow lanced through the sky like falling stars, striking homes, forests-people. Even cultivators and wandering immortals from sacred sects had descended to defend the human realm, their blades clashing with demon steel.

In the midst of this devastation, a revelation occurred.

As another blast tore through the sky and rained fire upon the fleeing villagers, the girl stumbled and cried out. Her parents, racing after them, stopped. With a wave of their hands, a shimmering shield of spiritual energy burst forth, encasing the children just in time to deflect the deadly strike.
