The Contract (Part 13)

Start from the beginning

She steps over toward me, wrapping her arms around me. "Oh sweetie," She says.

"I never wanted that,"

"I know you didn't. What he did to you, Sabine, was unlawful. You had no control over that." She tells me as she holds me. "No one blames you for what he done, honey."

She let's me cry on her for a while before she left to go see about Adam. Like she says, Daddy comes in later. He kocks at my door lightly.

"It's open," I say.

He steps in, looking around my room. I'm not really sure what he was looking for.

"I remember when you was little," He says. "You begged me to paint your room purple:" He tells me.

"I vaguely remember that"

"After we painted it though, you told me you wanted polkadots."

I laugh. "Yup sounds right."

"Your room was purple with two big yellow dots in it for a week." He says. "You've grown up so fast." He says, sitting down at the foot of my bed. "One moment you're my little angel now you're about to a little one of your own."

"I'll always be your little girl no matter what, Daddy," I tell him.

"Yes, you will. Your mother wasn't as understanding," he says.

"I'll probably get yelled at when I get home,"

"She wanted to take you home tonight." Dad says,"and ground you and Adam from ever seeing each other again, " He says.

"Ouch, if she's that hard on me, I wonder how hard she'll be on the twins."

"What about the twins?"

I bite my lip because I said I wasn't going to say anything, but now that Adam and I are out in the open, I wanted to tell about them as well.

"I walked in on them one day," I tell daddy. "I don't think they saw me, but I never want to see what I saw again," I tell him.

He nods. "I'll be sure to let your mother know," he says.

"It really doesn't matter. She probably won't believe it." I tell him.

He hugs me. "I talked to Adam," he says. "I'm sure Molly has talked to you," he says.

"Yes, are you mad at me, Daddy?" I ask.

"I really wished you had waited until you were older." He says,'But we can't have everything we want in life. And it's a lot to consider you and Adam together. As your father, I want to put you in a bubble and protect you." He says,"As Adam's step dad, I want to beat the shit out of him for even thinking about you in such a way." He says,"but as a rational person, I understand that by doing either isn't going get anywhere. I know that you're both old enough to do what is right, " He says

My eyes go back to the bird outside. "Don't worry, Daddy, we miss behave. Right now, I have no desire to do anything to disappoint anyone," I tell him.

"I'm not worried about that, Sabine," He says.

I look back at him. "Momma is," I say.

"She would worry about everything. I want you to know I love you" he says "and you can always come to me for anything" He says "I know it's not always easy to just open up to me but I'm your dad and I'm not going disown you for anything you choose" He says.

I hugged him tightly because it met the world to me that at least one of my parents would always have my back no matter what.

"I love you too, Daddy," I tell him.
