Chapter 10: Not Leaving Her Side part 2
Morgan's POV
-Three Hours Later-
Three hours later after Penelope's heart monitor went crazy while I was visiting her, I still didn't know whether she was alive or dead
"Shouldn't we know something by now?!"I ask frantically "It's been three hours since she flatlined, and we haven't heard a damn thing!"
"Morgan calm down, the doctors are in with her, and the heart monitors not making noise anymore, which means they must have brought her back" JJ tries to reassure me
You don't know that! They may have turned it off because.." I get cut off by someone entering the waiting room
"Mr. Morgan?" the doctor asks
I run over to him "Please tell me she's okay, please!" I beg completely exhausted
"She's awake" he smiles
I jump up and down and cheer happily "She's awake! She's awake! SHE'S AWAKE!"
"Morgan? What's going on? Hotch asks walking back to the rest of the team in the waiting room
"She's awake!" I tell him happily
"That's great Morgan! See we told you she'd be okay" Hotch replies
"You can see her now if you'd like, just remember that she's still really weak so try to keep her calm and keep the visit short so she can rest" the doctor told me
"Thank you doctor" I say as I head off to Penelope's room
-Two minutes later-
When I get to Penelope's room I inhale deeply and gather myself then walk in
"Hi Handsome!" Penelope says sitting in her hospital bed as I walk in
"God it's so good to hear your voice again, I'm so sorry, I knew I should have cancelled, it's because of me your here" I say as I walk over and engulf her in a hug starting to cry again
"Hey now, no crying handsome, I'm okay" she playfully shoves me
I chuckle slightly, wiping my tears "I thought I lost you, give me a break"
"I'm fine Derek, promise, it's because of you that I'm still alive, I don't blame you, neither of us could've known that that would happen" she smiles
Unable to speak, I just get in the bed next to her and hold her tightly
"Are you the only one here?" she asks looking at me
"No, the rest of the team is in the waiting room, but your only allowed to have one visitor at a time so everyone agreed that I should be the first one to see you when you woke up" I reply
"That's nice of them, it'll sure be nice to get back to normal and be around all the people that mean the most to me again. I just wish I knew when that was.." she trails off
I hold her face in my hands making her look straight in my eyes so she knows I mean what I say "Don't worry Penelope, you'll get back to everything soon, and no matter how long it takes, I'll be here every step of the way, I promise"
"Thanks handsome" she smiles then yawns
"Get some rest beautiful, it's been a long day" I say
"But I'm not tired!" she protests in a little kid voice
"Okay, Okay, how's a movie and cuddles sound?" I chuckle blushing slightly
"A movie and cuddles sounds perfect!" she smiles and pokes my nose
I smile "I love you Penelope"
"I love you too Derek" she kisses me passionately
After we make out for a while, we finally settle down in the hospital bed cuddling and watch the movie, and for the first time in four weeks I finally feel like I can breath and I finally feel safe knowing that Penelope's safe back in my arms where she belongs
