[Sunday – 3:57 p.m.]

Cha Soo-jin was losing her mind.

Not in the catastrophic, GPA-imploding kind of way—but in the soft, creeping kind that snuck up on you like a virus you swore you were immune to. The kind where you suddenly know exactly what time a certain boy always checks his messages. The kind where his stupid laugh has lodged itself into your memory like a ringtone. The kind where you hate that you know what kind of shampoo he uses.

Citrus. Of course- Ugh, why do I even know that.

Two months.

That's how long it's been since their infamous parental escape mission. Since the forehead patch. Since she almost got caught hiding a boy in her kitchen like a contraband snack.

Two months since she decided—officially, internally, and very dramatically—that nothing was going to happen between her and Sim Jaeyun.

But.

Nothing was already something.

Somehow, he was still around.

Group project? Long over. Presentation? A+.

And yet, there he was—on her phone. At her locker. Waiting outside their classrooms. Appearing beside her like a glitch in her reality. Flirting like it was his job. Laughing like they shared a secret. Calling her "sunshine" even when she glared at him hard enough to set things on fire.

And the worst part?

She was still letting him.

"Are you even listening?" Yunjin snapped her fingers in front of Soo-jin's face.

Soo-jin blinked. "Hu- Huh?"

Yeji groaned from across the table. "You're spaced out again. Thinking about him, aren't you?"

"I'm not," Soo-jin lied.

"You totally are," Yunjin accused, pointing her boba straw at her. "You're doing that thing where your eyes go soft and distant and it's like you're having a fantasy montage in your brain."

"No, I'm not," Soo-jin said. "And even if I were, it would not involve montages."

Yeji leaned forward. "Just admit it. You're into him."

Soo-jin scoffed. "He's annoying."

"So are all our boy crushes. That's the charm."

She crossed her arms. "There's no charm. We're just... still friends because of the group chat."

"You mean the group chat where it's just you and him now because Heeseung muted it and Jongseong left?" Yunjin said, sipping loudly.

"Sunghoon is still there! Plus, I'm just being polite."
