time passed. eventually the moon had replaced the sun. the concrete had grown colder. haewon had her knees pulled to her chest, her cheek resting on her arms.

gotak had his elbow on his knees, scrolling through instagram, or tiktok, haewon didn't have the interest in knowing. he kept on refreshing on the screen, over and over.

after the little accident, none of them really spoke. "you think he'll show up?" "i thought he would've done before." haewon turned her head to his side. "you're not good at waiting, huh?" he glanced then smirked. "i don't think that's really news."

haewon exhaled. "you ever think we'd end up here?" he asked. "on stakeouts and near death expiriences?" he glanced over. "no. more like, together. like this." he replied. "back when you and i met, i thought you were another asshole in someone's gang."

"you were ready to fight me." he smirked. "i was shoved away." "barely." "you were talking shit about sieun and suho, you deserved it." "yeah, sieun should've probably let you fight." gotak said, silence enveloping them for a second.

"i didn't think you liked me back then." he said. "that's because i didn't. but i also didn't know you." she leaned back, looking at the sky. "and now?" his voice quieter. "now i think you care more than you let on." she turned to look at him. his eyes held hers.

"don't psychoanalyze me." he muttered. "i'm not, i'm just... trying to figure you out." she said. "why?" "because you never say what you mean. you protect, you fight, but your talks don't go that deep."

gotak looked down, then right back at her. "what if i don't want to be figured out?" she tilted her head, her voice gentler now. "then stop looking at me like that." she said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "like what?" he asked. "like you know something i don't."

her smile faded. their shoulders were brushing. neither of them moved. "gotak..." she started, but her voice faltered. her calling out his name made him lean in slightly. just so that their breath mingled. one single move and they'd be-

but then she blinked and pulled back, just a little, heart racing too fast. he just sunk in how close they had been and stood abruptly. he opened his phone calling baku while pacing around. "he won't answer." he said.

he started walking. "wait! why are you doing this?" he didn't answer and just kept walking. he knocked on the big door. "park hoomin! i know you're in there. come out." haewon held his wrist back. "it might not be hoomin who's in there, you idiot." she said. "why would someone be in there? nobody's walked by in hours." gotak said as he harshly pulled away her hand from his arm.

gotak kept banging on the door, screaming baku's name. "i don't think he's in there, we should probably try something else." "we should go inside." gotak bluntly said. "have you lost your mind?" she tried reasoning with him. however that didn't really work as he walked around the warehouse lifting her against her will when they reached the window.

"so you want me to open this?" she asked. "open the window, come on!" "bitch." she said. haewon pushed on the window, getting the lock unfastened. "i got it." she said with excitement running on her body now. haewon jumped inside. "you okay?" gotak asked. "yeah, everything's good."

gotak climbed to the window and jumped in as well. they walked around, opening another metal door. "shit." both of them mumbled as they saw the place. "go check upstairs, i'll check down here." "how classy, send the girl alone." "you need me to go with you?" "no." she replied. "that's what i thought."

haewon walked up the stairs, being met with an office. an empty one. gotak kept on screaming around and haewon caught up to him. "whoa!" he exclaimed, face looking through a glass door. "what?" she asked. "those are baku's trunks." "the fuck?" she disgustedly asked. gotak told her to look through the glass. "those are his?" she asked raising a brow at the tiger trunks. "yeah they are. well shit."
