I saw the fight from a window high above. Police, emergency services, getting the students to hide in safety, getting reports from all over the school, increasing security and making sure to get searches done of every freaking square inch of the property... Just another day in the life of the leader of a hero academy that MANY villains wish did not exist.

I sigh and turn in my chair, looking at Henry and Tori as they now sit in my office. "What the hell am I supposed to do here?" I ask. I then cock my head. "Tori, I'll let you go to your family and classes shortly, just bear with me for some formalities." Tori moves back in her seat, raising her eyebrow.

I give her a side smile. "Well, what did you expect me to say? You both already have dedicated government-assigned counselors, so I'll let them deal with the emotional fallout of all this. As to visiting your mother, I'm sorry to say we can't immediately arrange an escort to the hospital. The school still has to behave as if you two are dangerous criminals, which, you, Tori, very clearly are not." Tori hugs herself and looks around the room as if she doesn't want to be here. "Oh, come, come, child, I didn't mean that in a bad way."

"I'm a coward..." she says.

I want to comfort her, but I don't know how effective I can be. Her family should be the ones to do that. I'm always the pragmatist, but even so, I should say something. "From what I understand, you ran to help your family the instant you knew there was trouble. Those aren't the actions of a coward. When given a chance, you listened to counsel and stayed with Pony. That is wisdom, not cowardice."

"But I was so scared. I'm so pathetic..." Henry puts an arm around her.

"Of course you were scared. You've only just begun having a family, to have it threatened. I'm not holding you responsible for any of your actions. Running was instinct; like I said, you stayed safe when you could think clearly. A time will come when your power and skill will shine through, I'm sure of it. Keep studying, hold on to your family, and keep your ears open. You're brave, smart, and you have tremendous potential." I nod, in the back of my head, realizing my words only mean so much. "Hizashi is waiting outside for you, Tori. Give us at least a week to get you two to your mother's hospital room in person, but until then, we will be facilitating video conferencing with her and you the moment she regains consciousness."

They freeze when I mention that their mother still isn't conscious, their eyes wide, Tori shaking a little. It's only been a month, and she has already left an impression on them. "I know, Yuka, you two. Don't worry. She's a tough woman. I'm sure she'll come back to us."

I stiffen and look at Henry. "You'll be happy to know that expulsion for spying, hiding abilities, failing grades- which I know at least that was for understandable reasons- and general arrogance..." Henry cringes and closes his eyes, as if to brace himself. "Isn't on the table. You've messed up a lot in just one month, child, though, given your past, maybe that shouldn't surprise me. However, one of our requirements is excellence. Your commitment and bravery are not in question, but you're not exactly exceeding expectations. All that said, if I expel you right after an attack like what Mr. Bar did, the media and the public will have the nerve to think the reason is fear." I look at him, eyes boring into him, "You are on a razor's edge, boy. You're lucky I hate backing down to thugs more than I hate lowering standards." I look at Tori. "That's all that should concern you, please be well, you may go join your father. I understand little Yukari might also need her big sister at this moment. You'll find her with him."

Tori nervously gets up and bows to me, exiting quickly.

Henry buzzes his lips after she goes. "So... how many weeks of remedial work for all this?"
