Chapter 1

Nandini's pov

For some reason, being away from my hometown isn't scary or unfamiliar, it's almost like I recognize and know my way around Mumbai better than I did manglore which is so weird cause I was born and brought up in manglore.

But you know everyone is right, Mumbai is probably one of the safest cities I have seen and no I don't just say it, I say it because last night I had gotten off the bus and it was 2 in the morning but not for a single second did I feel unsafe, I felt like I was fine. I was a bit anxious because it's a new town but that anxiousness was gone within hours and now I feel like it's my town.

I never had the plan to come to Mumbai but right before my grandma passed away, she asked me to apply to this internship in this huge ass business but it's so ironic that my grandma who had always wanted me to be here has now passed away.Sometimes it's heart breaking to think she isn't with me but then I remember her words 'Kanna I am always here like your fireflies'.

"Holly shit" I whisper seeing so many people running around the entrance of the building

It literally looks like a god damn zoo and not to mention how freaking tall this building is, if I had to guess, I'd say it's about 100 floors up

"Shit, Im sorry" I apologize to the person who ran into me

"Use your eyes bitch" this chick snickers at me as if I was at fault

"The fuck did you say to me?" I ask about to pounce on her but the overhead speakers catches my attention

"ALL INTERNS MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE GYMNASIUM, ALL INTERNS TO THE GYMNASIUM"

I look up and smile hoping ayiappa and my ams was looking over me then I turn my head to that bitch

"If I didn't have places I needed to be, I'd rip your hair apart, now excuse me" I say pushing past her

Like god damn, she runs into me and then yells at me cussing like hello are you okay in the brain or not?

As I enter the gym, it was crowed with so many people walking around, mingling, talking, laughing and then there was me pushing aside and standing on the side

"ATTENTION EVERYONE" they announce causing everyone to stop talking

"Hello everyone, lets quiet down and focus on Miss M, the cheer man of this company"

"Im sorry girl, I'm way too short can't see" a girl says as she bumps into me

"All good, here I will shimmy back" I say smiling moving a little

"As you guys have heard, MM is the most competitive company to find work at but we are also aware that it is the most popular so like the last couple years, we are continuing our internship program but the year is a little different"

"She is hot" a guy says making me roll my eyes

Guys are so fucking dumb, like why do they only look at girls for their hotness or their physical bits?

"This years program has you guys divided in 6 different cohorts, each cohort consists of 26 people who will live in one house. These houses are constructed by MM and you are not allowed to leave the house until and unless asked by you. Everyone will have a contract once they have been selected because yes none of you are officially selected at the moment"

The entire gym gasps including me because I literally have no plans if I don't get selected. I thought I was selected, I even paid for the accommodation near the company but if I don't have this internships then what the hell am I going to do?

"Those of you gasping because you guys are worried about the money you must've paid for accommodation, don't worry you will be refunded"

Thank god, I literally used all my savings
