We Need to Talk About A Few Things

Meanwhile, at her own estate, Cruella's Chinese crested dog, Carlisle, and her Sphynx cat, Harriette, just busily pondered on what they would have needed to do just to prevent Cruella from carrying out her plans for Kim's dalmatian puppies. All they knew was how they had to do something about the unknowingly resurrected devil woman's plans for the chocolate brunette's dogs.

Harriette: We have to find a way to do something about this, Carlisle. I'm not gonna have this devil woman be dominant over me another minute.

Of course, Carlisle knew that it was his kind in jeopardy with a woman like Cruella still free from jail. It led him, however, to wonder just what reason Harriette had to hate Cruella other than her obvious love of coats made out of real fur.

Carlisle: I've been meaning to ask you this for a while, Harriette. Why do you hate the devil woman's persecution of dogs so much? I'd be understandable because I'm an actual dog, but I don't get why you'd have a reason to hate her for it.

Harriette had a reason, herself, for hating Cruella's persecution against dalmatians. Granted, it was a highly controversial and conditional reason to hate Cruella for her persecution of any dalmatian dogs. It was a reason to hate the woman's behavior towards dalmatians, nonetheless, though.

Harriette: The reason for my hatred of Cruella is a good one, too. I hate the devil woman because I just know that she would never stop wanting to make spotted fur coats with dalmatian dogs. I know that if she had the chance for it, she'd also hunt domestic cats that had spots for the same purpose as hunting dalmatians.

Carlisle was right about Harriette's reason for not even tolerating Cruella being a conditional reason, even controversial, had turned out to have been a slight stretch. It was, however, a very conditional reason since it suggested that even cats were at risk of getting their hides skinned by fur fashion icons like Cruella. Of course, Harriette also did not trust Cruella or her new furrier as far as she could have thrown either of them. Carlisle trusted Cruella even less than he liked agreeing with a cat, but so long as working with a cat was the only way to ensure the future of all dogkind, Carlisle knew he had to sacrifice his personal pride for future generations of dogs.

Harriette finally revealed having felt the same way about Carlisle and dogs, in general, the whole time she had known him, but she was a cat of principles and knew that future generations of her own kind needed her to work with a creature with whom she secretly got along so poorly that the two individuals had a natural enmity. It was purely for the sake of all catkind for Harriette, though.

Throughout history, it had never really been a dog's and a cat's obligation to get along with one another. It had always just been something they did to ensure the survival of either species' future.

Carlisle: We can't trust either of them.

By that point, Carlisle and Harriette had gone back to agreeing with one another as they normally would have, despite their reasons for doing so.

Harriette: It's the kind of wisdom we need to impart on someone, anyone we can.

Carlisle then spoke in his own canid tongue to Harriette further about their shared problem.

Carlisle: Maybe we could just go warn her dogs that they'll be dognapped soon.

Of course, that was when Harriette momentarily ignored her mission to put the future of catkind first, and started to argue with her supposed friend, Carlisle, against the idea of warning Kim's dogs of being dognapped in their near future.

Harriette: No! We don't need to trouble those dogs with such menial words. It'll just traumatize the pups for life, anyway. I think we can at least try to find a cat or something that would listen to us.
