The hypnotist for that evening was a man by the name of Dr. Mezmerizio, an Italian-and-Greek mixed blooded hypnotist with a knack for masterful manipulations of the mind. Cruella had paid Dr. Mezmerizio for the evening to manipulate Kim into helping Miss DeVil's own furrier, Fukushima Peruto-san, to dognap her own dalmatian puppies. At first, Dr. Mezmerizio was not sure he should have done such a thing to a woman in such a fragile state of mind upon hearing that she had just recently had her heart ripped out when Scotland Yard arrested her man. Cruella, however, reminded the hypnotist doctor from that of which she had previously rescued him.
Dr. Victorio Mezmerizio: Understood, Signora DeVil. I'll perform the hypnotic command on this woman tonight, against my best conscience.
Of course, Cruella was appalled at the man who she had once saved from destitution and poverty had addressed her with the kind of Italian honorific as that of which people of his mother's culture would have given to a woman in her middle-aged to elderly years.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman: I beg your pardon, Signore! I'm only in my thirties!
Dr. Mezmerizio, of course, saw his error in the way he spoke to Cruella, and corrected himself before she could ever dish onto the public that he used to be a poor man and a thief from the wealthy he was at the time. Victorio had even landed the woman of his dreams thanks to Miss DeVil, Mrs. Elsianna Mezmerizio, formerly a Miss Elsianna Argonautica, under his arms by the time that she had helped him escape from his destitution and poverty. Victorio owed Cruella so much, and there was little to nothing he could do about his debt to the devil woman. He had no choice but to go along with whatever Miss DeVil had wanted, no matter how wrong it was. He owed her his life, his wealth, his reputation and even the love of his wife.
Victorio Mezmerizio: Ab-a-solute-a-ly, Signorina DeVil. How could I forget to call-a you-a the propora honorific-a? I really-a should-a have-a known.
Of course, it had struck Dr. Mezmerizio as just a little strange that Miss DeVil would have been so offended by the reception of any kind of wrong honorific, but he chose not to hold it against her for the sake of his marital life. The love of his life, Elsiana Mezmerizio, was his wife by then thanks to one Cruella DeVil, after all. Victorio supposed that Miss DeVil could've been offended by so much more than just the wrong honorific.
Meanwhile back off the stage of Dr. Mezmerizio's grand hypnotist show, Cruella prepared her new friend in the audience, Kim, for the hypnotist's surprise for the chocolate brunette.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman: I hope you can enjoy the show as much as I know I will, Kimberly my dear. And just wait 'till you see the surprise from within the show the hypnotist has in store for you. I'm sure you'll definitely find it very diverting.
Of course, Kim did not suspect anything that Cruella had in mind for her during Dr. Mezmerizio's hypnotist show. That, alone, was just enough to put her at risk, especially with her current mentality and emotional state at the time of said show.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: I'll make sure to keep myself on the edge of my seat when this surprise you speak of finally rolls around, Miss DeVil.
Cruella, herself, of course, needed to advertise Dr. Mezmerizio as a thrilling hypnotist to Kim just as much as any kind of shill would have needed to advertise their employer's products.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman: Oh, my dear. I can assure you the surprise the hypnotist has in store for you shall be the kind of surprise for you that you wouldn't see, even in your wildest dreams.
The only true difference between Cruella and a shill was that a shill would have had a better chance at growing a conscience than that of Miss DeVil. Of course, there had also been the issue that Cruella had been the one to threaten Victorio with the thought of letting the secrets between the two of them see the light of day. That, however, had been a story for another day involving the relationship between them both.
Naturally, Kim was very impressed with the fact that Cruella had promised her such a surprise from the hypnotist. The only thing the chocolate brunette felt she had left to worry about while watching the show was whether or not Miss DeVil could have delivered on the promise of such a surprise to Kim. Miss DeVil, herself, had something to ask Kim at the time.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman: Now, tell me, my dear.
Kim then turned her head to face Cruella's direction as Miss DeVil asked the chocolate brunette her question.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman (continued): Your little spotted puppies are snug and safe at home, right?
Of course, Kim found it a surprisingly strange question for Cruella to have asked her. Just as her resolve to see good in Ray had readily weakened after the sight of him be carried off by Scotland Yard earlier that day, however, the chocolate brunette thought less about the need to suspect Miss DeVil and only ignored the clearly weakened voice in her head that told her to think about it a lot better than she had been that night. So, Kim just answered Cruella's question to her.
Kimberly 'Kim/Kimmy' Sefton: Yes, they are. They're with Patch and Piper.
Cruella grew a little concerned about her evil plans for the puppies about the possibility Patch and Piper might have interfered but just kept the part about her plans to herself, for the time being.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman: Oh, with daddy and mummy. How dear!
Then, the newly resurrected devil woman added salt to the psychological wounds on Kim's resolve about having ever trusted Ray in the first place.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman (continued): It's such a relief to have the bad man in jail. If puppies can't be safe in this world, who can?
Kim then grew even more heartbroken at Cruella's comment about Ray. The chocolate brunette had already been embarrassed about falling for a man with a dognapping conviction. After Miss DeVil's comment, however, Kim had just felt downright humiliated about it. But then, Kim decided to look at who she had left to trust in the world, her dogs, and the one she instantly believed she should have accepted the offer of friendship from in the at the start of their time together. The chocolate brunette made a decision to focus on them instead of the blond who turned out to be the kind of criminal she swore to her old friend, Rodger Radcliffe, that she would have never trusted.
Cruella 'Ella' DeVil/Estella von Hellman (continued): Let the show begin!
