Born for This

Most folks, it seems, are oblivious,
Deaf and blind to the obvious.
"Safe" inside their stiff cocoons,
They never think that they are doomed.

They never question their beliefs.
Afraid of things beyond their reach,
They throw away their sword and shield,
And to Ignorance, they yield.

But there are some who dare to question;
Some who even dare take action,
And fight their way beyond the wall,
Answering an unknown call.

Those people that choose to fight,
Those that do not choose to hide,
That is who I want to be,
Not confined, but flying free.

I want to know what lies outside,
And attempt what's not been tried.
I want to see beyond this shell,
And give history my name to tell.

I'm shaking off these heavy chains,
And jumping into pouring rains.
I'm setting off, on my own,
To discover the unknown.

I was born for this,
Born to see,
Born to explore,
Born to be free.
