"Get to your stations Shellbags! You've got some killing to do!" Yelled second in command of the ship Herald Murow from the bottom of the steps that led to the main deck. Just moments later, water poured from that same opening, pelting the men as they frantically made their way up the steps or to their posts somewhere below once they got up. Among them was William, another sailor amongst the army that lived on the vessel known as the Sea Carver. As he made his way up the steps with the others, he heard the winds of the storm raging high above. It wasn't like anything he had ever seen once he got top side. It spun in a giant whirlpool. Made up of black and grey clouds that consumed the white ones on the edges of its maw, swirling them inwards to add to the tempest. Turquoise shaded lightning skipped within its borders. Some bolts struck around the ship, distorting the seas surface and coursing just below it for a moment. Before the water exploded into a hot burst of blue light. The eye of the storm looked to be slowly moving towards the ship from where he stood.

The sails of the Sea Carver went any direction they could, making the three masts' groan under the tension. William hadn't had time to dress for this weather as his white shirt and dark pants had soaked through in an instant. Waves made themselves known again as they crashed over the tops of the siderails, making the men fall over or steady themselves. William was taken off guard by the wave as it rammed into him. He fell on his back, slamming his head against the slick floor as he slid into a gunpowder barrel. He grabbed onto it for dear life as another wave hit him. He wrapped around it. Frozen to the point that he could barely move, not able to breath as the sea water forced its way into his nose and into his mouth if he dared open it. He kept his eyes shut, praying to Juru, the god of the seas; to save him.

A distant voice rose above chaos, William could hear that it was getting closer and closer to him. When all of the sudden he was picked up and put back unto his feet in one fluid motion. "No praying to the dead sea god on my ship, recruit! Who do you think got us into this mess in the first place!" The man laughed before he shook William to get him out of his shock. It was Captain Henry himself. The man then clanged to one of the thick ropes that was a part of the shroud that connected to the main mast of the ship that towered over them all towards the skies that raged above. Henry's boots stood upon the black wood that made up the side rail of the ship. His uniform was of the Surando, a primarily sea faring people with their capital being the biggest port city in the world. The uniform was primarily black with white gold buttons and dark red accents making up the edges of sleeves and pockets. The men who had time to were dressed in a similar uniform. The captain must've lost his hat at some point, revealing his bald head as his yellow teeth showed through his bright red beard while he yelled at his men.

"A day like today, where the winds are strong and the rains are stronger. These creatures of the seas, these monsters of old decide to face us upon this uneven ground that favors them. For that is the only way they think they can defeat us!" A wave smashed into him, barely being fazed. "But no men! That is what we crave! For that is the only way we enjoy what we do!" The captain jumped down to the main deck. His saber held high, then pointed it towards where William assumed the enemy vessel had been heading at them from deeper within the storm. "This storm, lads. That which they themselves have created. Shall now be their tomb!" The men all cheered as he grabbed a round shot ball and helped load it into the nearest cannon. He then looked at William "You!" He pointed towards the new recruit, pulling out an axe that had been holstered on his hip. "Take this, William Hollow." He handed the weapon to him with a wide smile across his face. The recruit was shocked that the captain had known it, "It's for good luck, nobody dies in their first battle on my ship! Isn't that right boys?" He yelled.

"Yes sir!" The sailors around him exclaimed.

Captain Henry smirked, then put a hand on William's shoulder, gripping it tight, "You understand, lad?" William nodded, his long hair stuck to the side of his face from the onslaught of the ever growing storm. "Good!" The captain said before he stomped off, talking to more of his men.
