I began blaming everything on my own actions in exposing Priscilla and forcing her to come out of hiding. I truly should have known better than to let her go. I was aware that she had taken this action to distance herself from the world and put it all in the past. I will always be the one to blame for getting too close to a neighbour who I didn't see was acting. Moreover, even after she initially disappeared, I was unable to determine who she was or how she intended to get rid of Priscilla. I had no idea how she got engaged in any of this.
After moving to Germany, I became friends with Priscilla's sister. She was first enraged with me for being the cause of her sister's passing. Priscilla had told her everything; she informed me.
She continued, "She told me about the device and that you should be the only person she trusted."
Subsequently, Priscilla's sister admitted that she was Kate, the one who had shot and killed Olga on the spot when she was sent after me, and that she knew me and that we had previously met, but not in close proximity.
We got into a really heated argument at first, and I was really angry. She said her sister had sent her to me, right up to the point where I was going to break her left arm.
"She informed me that you were the person I needed to look for in case something happened to her."
"But it was me that searched for you."
"Because she warned me that you would if I didn't," she said.
Kate informed me about her role as the hired killer who assisted the agency in getting rid of all the risks posed by renegade agents. She admitted to me that, despite being sent after me, she had no idea who I was or what I had done to deserve to be sent to me.
She informed me that, presumably before I reached her, her sister had contacted her as she was dying. I believe it happened when she gave her the complete truth or every idea of who I was. I told Kate that the girl she had shot and murdered years ago was actually a buddy of mine who had rescued my ass several times. She apologised, saying that getting me was just a side goal. She said this without regret.
"I apologise for your friend's loss."
I said. "That won't make her return, but it wasn't your fault either."
"You see, you're the only person I reluctantly pursued because, to be honest, I could have killed you that night if I had wanted to."
I remarked, "You know, there are moments when I think this whole thing is just built up."
"Since I am Priscilla's sister, and I'm sure they all knew it, why would they send me after you? Perhaps I was the right person for the task."
"Do you even know why they sent you after me, or are you just doing your job? Sweaty job for killing me."
"All right, stop talking like that and tell me where my sister wanted us to meet before she died."
I answered, "It's because I know exactly who killed her."
"And how precisely are you aware of that?"
"And specifically, do you know about that?" she inquired.
"Because the person who killed her was my neighbour when,"
"Tell me about this neighbour you had; were you so close to her?"
"Are you telling me about five years ago, or before my sister moved to France?"
"She was simply a friend—not really a friend, just someone who handed me the keys to my flat when I moved in since we shared a building—because I had no intention of becoming closer to anybody when I came to France."
