KS 'e eyes widened, her bhaukhal avatar returning. She swiped her gun aiming at Binni as she slowly stepped towards her, her anger shimmering. A loud thud echoed followed by another and another. Binni fell, tears stinging her eyes, KS's handprints imprinted in her cheek.
"How dare you... how dare you hurt my madam sir .... You will see the real bhaukhal of KS today..." She roared as she aimed the gun at Binni.
Shivani rushed forward, butting herself into the danger almost absentmindedly. Fear had replaced her cold conviction. Fear for her sister's life. She raised her arm to punch KS when she stumbled onto the couch, the wind knocked out of her. She gasped for breath as Haseena appeared in front of her, her hand bleeding profusely.
The two alphas collided, Haseena and Shivani as the other gang members were arrested by the force. Shivani grew restless, panic settling in her eyes. Her anger doubled clouding her judgements. She weakened Haseena, the intensity of her jabs and punches wounding Haseena to the core yet she was soon overpowered by Haseena's valiancy. Soon, Shivani was left with no choice but to surrender, the clasps of the cuffs tightly wound around her wrists.
Haseena and KS led the way out, dragging Binni and Shivani with them. Haseena opened the van and placed the two inside. She and KS ripped the board outside Rangrez Gully, a triumphant expression on their face. The duo joined hands, their famous criss cross shake as the members stood straightening themselves to a salute.
"At last Madam Sir..." Ks spoke, her voice of a softer tone.
"The truth has won...."
They shared an eye lock, a flicker of understanding and respect transcending their blood soaked and bruised bodies.
The Chapter of the Chingari gang was closed.
As the jeep drove away, Haseena silently massaged her hand, blood pouring through the bandage. She glanced silently, her eyes resting heavily on KS as she leaned back in the seat. The Chingari gang was finally caught. Haseena recalled the darkened past back when the whole of Lucknow, even the police force was terrified of Chingari gangs instant justice. Haseena had faced countless obstacles in her path but finally she was able to perform her duty. She had eradicated the root of the problem, arresting the Chingari gang echoing the message that no one was above the law. Haseena exhaled, a pride settling in. She had won as a police officer.
****************************
Haseena and KS reported to the HQ saluting both the Commissioner and the DSP as they straightened in front of them. The Commissioner's eyes bore on them, his intensity burning their gazes. Haseena gulped, her confidence wavering in front of him.
"Ms. Malik you've closed the Chingari gang..." The Commissioner spoke, his tone neither angry nor happy.
Haseena nodded mustering her courage to speak. "Yes Sir, we've arrested the gang members. They will be presented in court tomorrow."
"And how would you explain this to their followers Ms. Malik? The public are questioning the arrest of their leader..."
"Sir, we'll invite the media and control the situation. The Chingari gang disrupted the faith placed on the institution of law sir....they made a joke out of our police uniforms and we'll make sure the public understands that...." KS spoke, barely attempting to hide her contempt.
Haseena smiled faintly, her heart beaming in pride as KS spoke.
"Haan Sir, the public needs to understand that no one is above the law. The Chingari gang was effective up to an extent but Sir, if every member of the public took the law into their own hands, then why do we even need the police..." she paused, staring directly at the Commissioner. "I think we need to remind Lucknow of the importance of the police force."
