The Beginning of an End
***I've always thought that the last episode (741) ended a bit too quickly. So, I hope to recreate the ending in my own way. This story starts after the press conference where HM was promoted. ***
The press conference ended lifting everyone's spirits. As the crowd dispersed, the members of the MPT filed into their station, unwrapping the gifts and celebrating amongst themselves.
Haseena Malik heaved a sigh of relief. She couldn't think of a better way for her team to celebrate. It was a long and hard journey but HM was proud of each and every member of her team. They were more than her family now. She thought back to her first day as the SHO of MPT, reveling in the warmth of nostalgia and memory. How far had they all progressed and how much they had achieved? Her thoughts roamed to the new beginning where she would be taking a new step as the DSP. As much as Haseena wanted the promotion, she felt a pang of melancholy and regret as she'd have to leave her team and her family behind. That was something Haseena would never be able to do.
As the group broke off their embrace, Haseena walked a short distance, leveling her gaze at her cabin, her heart warming with miles of memories. KS walked up to her.
"Madam Sir, aap kya soch rahi hain?" she asked.
Haseena turned to face her. She had her usual charismatic grin and smile which warmed KS immediately.
"Aree, kuch khaas nahi KS. Bas... hum kitni door aa gaye hain saath mein aur... yeh nayi shuruaat kya laayegi."
KS's heart turned a shade of despair as she recalled that Haseena was promoted to DSP which meant that she'd be leaving the MPT. It fumbled KS hurting her to her depths. Their conversation was interrupted by Cheetah who shouted "Madam Sir, ek bada dabba bacha hai."
Haseena laughed and exclaimed "Isse khol ke dekho" as she walked back to where the team stood, their hearts racing in excitement. As Cheetah stepped to open the box, the ground beneath them rumbled before exploding in a ball of orange fire and smoke.
None of the members had time to think. They were on the floor, lifeless, crumpled in heaps as the flames curled around their home, their MPT.
The outsiders heard the sound before they saw the flames. The gathered around the MPT, their eyes registering the wide shock and fear.
Iqbal and Badhnam had no words as they saw their beloved station, their second family explode in nothing but waves of orange and a tint of ash.
The DSP sir who was on his way to congratulate the team personally, stood rooted to the spot, his eyes a glow of fear and worry. It took him a minute to get his bearings. He took out his phone and dialed the emergency services. Within minutes, the area was cordoned off to the public, swarmed with emergency vehicles, task forces and the media offering live coverage of the event.

KS was the first to open her eyes, coughing out bile and smoke. Her lungs flared in pain, her asthma making it difficult for her to breathe. Her head thundered in pain and she could feel blood rushing down her head. She recalled nothing, only the blast. She lifted her head only to find her eyes blurred, swimming in the ash whites of the fire.
She heard a faint voice as if tugging on a distant memory. The voice seemed so near yet so far. She concentrated.
"Madam", the voice, a desperate plea, laced with emotion.
KS fought the urge to give in, to sleep the pain away. She willed herself and took deep breaths. Her breathing returned. She looked around and saw Billu, his head bleeding.
