Sitting across from Jungkook in the cafeteria was weird.

Not because I felt awkward—

But because it felt too natural.

He stole my food again.

I stabbed my fork into my pancake. “You have your own.”

Jungkook, completely unfazed, popped another piece into his mouth. “Yours tastes better.”

I scowled. “You literally ordered the same thing.”

He smirked. “Exactly.”

I groaned. “You’re infuriating.”

Jungkook rested his chin on his hand, studying me. “And yet, you’re still here.”

I hated that he was right.

Soojin and Miyu, sitting a few tables away, wiggled their eyebrows at me.

I ignored them.

Jungkook chuckled. “They’re enjoying this way too much.”

I sighed. “I know.”

Jungkook leaned forward slightly. “Are you enjoying it?”

My stomach flipped.

I stabbed my pancake again. “Don’t flatter yourself.”

Jungkook laughed. “Too late.”

Jungkook had spent the entire morning finding new ways to annoy me—

Tapping my desk with his pen.
Sitting way too close.
Casually flipping my hair whenever he walked past.

I was ready to throw something at him.

But then—

Something happened.

It was small.

So insignificant that I shouldn’t have even noticed.

But I did.

I was reaching for a bottle of water from the vending machine—

When another hand grabbed it first.

I turned, ready to fight.

Jungkook.

Holding out the bottle.

“For you,” he said simply.

I blinked.

My entire brain short-circuited.

“Uh… thanks?” I mumbled.

Jungkook just shrugged. “Told you. I pay attention.”

Then he walked away.

And I just stood there, clutching the stupid bottle like it was something more.

I should have expected it.

The moment I stepped out of the school gates—

Jungkook was waiting.

Again.

I sighed. “Do you not have better things to do?”

Jungkook grinned. “Nope.”

I started walking.

He followed.

It was quiet.

Comfortable.

And then—
