Cardcaptor Sakura x Jujutsu Kaisen

Tsumiki didn't think her world would get any more worse. She admits, she's not the most optimistic person but she's not a pessimist either. She calls herself a realist.

She thought she would have to endure living with her prostitute mother until she was either old enough to get the hell out or she would have to secretly survive on her own if her mom drops dead from either illness, drug use, or alcohol poisoning. Calling the child protection services wasn't an option because better the evil she knew than whatever would happen to her.

She looked up at the admittedly very tall, dark, and handsome man in front of her as her mother's words washed over her. He looked like a thug, a handsome thug who could crush a person's head with his hands but a thug nonetheless. She's having second thoughts on contacting child protection services.

"Okay, Tsu-chan. This is where we'll live from now on." Her mother's words finally registered in her head. "And this is your dad now."

Ah, right. Her mother remarried. Tsumiki's neck hurts from looking up at the unsmiling, newly titled step-father in front of her.

The man, Tsumiki noticed with a vague detachment, has a scar on the corner of his lips that only adds to his image of being a thug.

With the sting of her mother's black painted nails gripping her shoulder. Tsumiki robotically bowed down and uttered a greeting. "Good afternoon, father. I'm Tsumiki. Please take care of me."

As she stood back up, she didn't notice the slight downturn of his lips at how formal she sounded before he grunted and left the door wide open for the mother and daughter to come in.

Tsumiki discreetly looked around the place and it was slightly better than where she and her mother used to live. And by better she meant there wasn't any alcohol bottles lying around for her to trip over.

Her mother, at a glance, didn't seem to mind the smell or how messy this place was. Nor was her mother surprised at seeing a little boy sitting on the sofa. She stood there, her world slowly turning upside down and topsy turvy at the familiarity of the boy's face who was now narrowed at her in suspicion and caution as he curled inwards, arms around his knees cooking tighter.

She vaguely heard her mother and new step father going up the stairs as she blinked.

"Hi. I'm Tsumiki." She said in a soft voice. "What's your name?"

She held her breath in anticipation as her world hung in the balance.

Please don't let it be-

"...My name's Megumi." A small voice answered back and her world came crashing down.

Megumi, now her little brother who has or will have the Ten Shadows Technique. Her new step-father is probably important since he doesn't look like an NPC. She doesn't remember him.

And this world, she recalled from her grainy, staticky memories of her past life, is not a happy one.

"Nice to meet you, Megumi." She smiled. "You can call me big sister."

Her world, which consisted of her mother and her now included Megumi and her stepfather but dear old dad isn't at home often, expanded a little bit. But the amount of people she cared about only increased from one (herself) to two (Megumi).

Nothing changed too drastically. She just had to get enough food and water for her little brother and make sure supplies last. That meant finding money on the streets while she walks wherever she needs to go and doing little jobs here and there like tutoring kids. It also means rifling through the garbage to see if there's anything useful that someone threw away and cleaning themselves in school bathrooms because the water and electricity isn't working again.
