It's been almost a year since we told Blitz, along with Moxxie and Millie, about us. I.M.P. has grown in that time. The new clients that we've procured from my contacts and beyond have kept us busy, the targets rolling in, and our paychecks fat. The work got to the point where Blitz hired additional staff for the logistics and day-to-day work, and the staff including everyone included numbered at a dozen strong.
My relationship with Loona was still going strong as ever. Loona and I kept things professional at work... most of the time. But she takes every chance she can to sit on my lap, just to be close to me or to get out of work for a few minutes. Occasionally pulling me into a room/storage area to fool around. Blitz's nature usually compels him to intrude on other people's lives, but strangely, when it came to me and his daughter, he let us be. I assume the reason is that he wants to give Loona space to be happy and grow as a person. This entire thing definitely hasn't been easy for him.
Today as we were walking down the street I feel something wrap itself around my waist like a thick rope. I noticed it's Loona's Tail.
"Whats that for?". I ask.
Loona shrugs casually, her smirk widening ever so slightly.
"It's instinctual. Hellhounds are territorial and possessive by nature, especially when it comes to the people they care about. Wrapping my tail around you is a way to mark you as mine, a visual reminder that you belong to me".
She gives your waist another gentle squeeze with her tail.
"Sounds good".
Loona and I had been going back and forth for a while between my place and hers. She either stayed at my place or we would get a random hotel to... keep things interesting. She decided she wanted to move into my place near the office after the first six months of our dating each other. We spent a good deal of time talking about it before we set the deal in stone. Loona has been looking forward to decorating the place since we talked about it.
Blitz cried the day that we moved in together. We carried Loona's things out to the van. It didn't take long to move it all. She didn't have many possessions, so we did it all in one trip. Even though there were so few to bring with us, Blitz insisted on being there to help us. I think he also wanted to see the new place that Loona kept going on and on about to ensure that it was acceptable. Blitz helped us start the moving process.
I had a little more than she did when I left Greeze's mansion. Everything else was at Fatima's home.
Loona only had a had four boxes of things to bring up. When we brought the last of her things, Loona got down to Blitz's level and hugged him, both of them crying. But Blitz was making puddles.
"Call me if you need anything," he says. "If you need help, money, or if you feel like you need a break, just let me know, and we'll get it sorted out."
"I'm going to be ok, Dad," she says, standing up. "We'll see you in a few days."
He crosses over to me. "Take care of her..please?"
"You have my word," I promised. Blitz composes himself. Eventually, he goes to the door. Before he closes it to leave, he looks back at Loona proudly yet sadly smiling before closing the door.
I turn to see Loona looking around the room, her gaze fearful, lips pursed, and rubbing her arm nervously.
"Are you ok?" I ask.
"Yeah, I..yeah".
"If you're not feeling this -"
"No no I...I am. I'm just scared I haven't been anywhere else in the world except the orphanage. But I know I want this with you, it's just so new. I think I just need some time. "
"I understand."
She turns her attention to her things
"Let's get to work," she says as we turn our attention to the boxes and personal items we had left. We debated on where certain things should go and getting things in place. After another two hours, we got most of what we needed done.
After the day we had, we decided to go shopping tomorrow after we finish. The house was coming together great.
