Haseena smiled despite the pain, KS's love and care for her strumming a deep chord within her. She had never seen KS as vulnerable as she was now. Tears spilled out her eyes, Haseena's own guilt ransacking her heart.

The car stopped as KS carried Haseena to a room, gently placing her on the bed while the others left in a haste to search for the antidote. KS knelt down on the floor, her hand never leaving Haseena.

Haseena's world blacked out, a calm sensation washing over her, yet she kept her eyes open as she felt a touch of warmth and love lingering in her presence.

"Madam Sir...." KS shouted, shaking Haseena vehemently.

She stood up bending lower as she stared directly into Haseena's eyes.

"Madam Sir...please keep your eyes open" she pleaded with Haseena, her fingers constantly rapping across her cheek. "Madam Sir, I was never comfortable in expressing my emotions but I need to say this to you now madam sir else...." She trailed off, her voice growing distant.

Haseena grew weaker by the second, her consciousness slipping past her. She heard a voice, faint and distant that kept tugging at her brain, jolting her awake every time.

"Madam Sir....I need you with me....You are the most important person in my life. I know that I always fight with you and argue with you but madam sir....I cannot express in words how much I respect and love you. Madam Sir, ever since your first day at MPT, you stole my bhaukhal image..." she chuckled through her tears. "I'll never admit this in public madam sir but you are the only person in this whole world that can save me from my own anger."

Haseena slipped, her eyes closing as her breathing slowed to a halt. She felt lifeless and limp in KS's hands, her body relaxing.

Whack!

A slap landed on Haseena's cheek, the sting burning as she was jolted awake again. She gasped, the electrifying pain returning as her eyes opened, slowly to the light. Another slap landed and another followed, the immense pain tearing her flesh apart.

The momentary distraction brought Haseena back from the verge of death. She heard a voice yet her foggy mind couldn't recognize who it was. She stared at the person in front of her, void of expressions.

KS cried, streams of tears gushing through her eyes. Guilt ate away at her heart as she slapped her madam sir. She raised Haseena's hand, slapping her own cheeks forcefully.

"Madam Sir...please forgive me. I raised my hands on you..." she pleaded while she kept hitting herself with Haseena's hand, blood trickling from her cheek.

The toll of the serum overpowered Haseena, the pain shooting up her body. She jerked, shaking uncontrollably. It felt as if a colony of red ants had been emptied over her body, their stings growing deeper inside her. She struggled, unable to compose herself.

"Madam Sir....." she shouted again, her scream piercing the depths, a desperate plead.

Haseena stood there, her eyes floating in a milky white sea. The pain subsided for a brief moment as her breath came out in labored gasps.

"Madam Sir...I've had unfortunate luck in my life with friends but when you came into my life, I was glad and proud to have a friend like you. You stood by me despite my faults always challenging me to prove myself. Haan, I know we always clash on our ideologies but madam sir, isn't there a saying that opposites attract...Madam Sir, I can't- I won't lose you madam sir....you aren't a senior to me but my whole life. You are my madam sir..."

Just then the door burst open as Anubhav rushed inside with the antidote. He quickly injected Haseena's arm as she fell to the bed, her mind finally draped in a world of darkness. Anubhav kept a reassuring hand on KS's shoulder, wiping her tears with his thumb.

Haseena slept comfortably while the MPT team stood huddled around her. A tensed and uncomfortable silence spread around the room, everyone's hearts thundering in anticipation. Haseena finally opened her eyes as a collective sigh escaped through the room. KS rushed near her supporting her to sit straight keeping her back close to the bed.

She smiled faintly glancing all around the room with tearful eyes, gratitude overflowing in her heart. Anubhav cleared his throat announcing that Haseena needed rest. As everyone turned to leave, Haseena held KS's hand, her eyes gesturing for her to stay.

KS sat down on the bed, averting her gaze from Haseena. She fumbled with her fingers, her head bowed low.

KS felt an extreme ease as she saw Haseena open her eyes. She felt relieved, the load lifting off her shoulders. As she stood near her, KS felt Haseena's presence arching in her heart. She wanted to hug her and comfort her madam sir but something stopped KS.

"KS...."Haseena called, her voice weak.

She turned wiping her eyes as she looked directly at Haseena.

"You said so much when I was battling with my life and now you aren't going to speak with me?"

"Madam Sir, I just did my duty."

"Duty-is that all KS?"

She was silent looking down at her hands. Haseena stood straight, lightly caressing her cheeks.

"KS, I heard everything you said and honestly your voice was the lifeline that saved my life."

KS looked up, blinking back her tears staring at Haseena in surprise. Haseena held her hand as KS tightly locked her fingers around her.

"KS, I'm really honored to have a friend like you standing with me in every corner. I felt lucky that you considered me to be your friend KS. Truly, you've won my heart KS. Thank you for saving my life."

KS smiled unable to procure words. She leaned forward and wrapped Haseena in a tight hug, caressing her hair gently.

The two friends stood locked in the presence of the other, basking in the unspoken love and warmth that radiated throughout the room as the pair prayed and thanked the gods for renewing their chance at a pure friendship.
