Yeonjun scoffed. “Great. Now my secret admirer is my mom.”
Still, he folded the letter carefully and slipped it into his pocket instead of throwing it away.
By the time the third letter arrived on Wednesday, he was fully invested.
> Yeonjun,
You laugh a lot around people, but it never quite reaches your eyes. I wonder—when was the last time you laughed for real? The kind that makes your stomach hurt? The kind that makes you forget everything else?
I’d like to hear that laugh someday.
Signed, your secret admirer.
Yeonjun stared at the words, his chest tight.
Had it really been that long?
The letters continued for weeks. Sometimes they were simple ("You did well on your presentation today."), sometimes they were thoughtful ("Do you ever watch the sunset alone? I think you'd like it."). But no matter how short or long, they always made Yeonjun's heart race.
And slowly, against his better judgment, he started looking forward to them.

The Confession
Yeonjun had never been this frustrated in his life.
It had been nearly a month, and he still had no idea who the admirer was. He had theories, of course—some classmates, a few juniors, even some of his friends—but none of them quite fit.
Until one day, he caught something.
It was after school, the hallways almost empty. Yeonjun had doubled back to his locker, having forgotten his notebook. But when he arrived, someone was already there.
Beomgyu.
Yeonjun froze.
The boy stood in front of his locker, a piece of paper in his hands. His hands trembled slightly before he slipped the letter inside and turned to leave.
Yeonjun reacted without thinking.
“Beomgyu.”
Beomgyu whipped around, eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. “Oh. Hey.”
Yeonjun took a step closer, watching him carefully. “What are you doing here?”
Beomgyu hesitated. “Nothing. Just… walking by.”
Yeonjun sighed, then opened his locker. Right there, in the exact spot Beomgyu had been standing, was another letter.
His heart pounded. He slowly turned to face Beomgyu, holding up the paper.
“Is this yours?”
Beomgyu’s face turned bright red. He looked everywhere except Yeonjun. “I—I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Yeonjun didn’t press. Instead, he unfolded the letter.
> Yeonjun,
I think I’m in trouble.
I never meant to fall for you. It just… happened. And now I don’t know what to do.
Would it be stupid to hope that maybe… just maybe… you could like me too?
Signed, Beomgyu.
Silence stretched between them.
Beomgyu looked like he wanted to disappear. Yeonjun just stared at the letter, heartbeat deafening.
Then, without thinking, he smiled.
Beomgyu blinked. “You’re… smiling?”
Yeonjun folded the letter neatly and placed it in his pocket. “You know,” he said softly, stepping closer. “I was starting to think I’d never find you.”
Beomgyu swallowed hard. “And now that you have?”
Yeonjun tilted his head. “Now? I think it’s my turn to write you a letter.”
Beomgyu’s breath hitched. “Oh?”
Yeonjun grinned. “Yeah. But I’ll just say it instead.”
And before Beomgyu could react, Yeonjun leaned in, pressing the softest kiss to his cheek.
“I like you too.”

Signed, Yours.
Later that night, Beomgyu found a note in his locker.
> Beomgyu,
You don’t have to be my secret admirer anymore.
Just be mine.
Signed, Yours.
And for the first time, Beomgyu didn’t have to hide his smile.
A/W:: this was so long ngl..BUT ATLEASG ITS WORTH IT!!
Signed, your secret admirer.
