Chapter 2: 22nd Century

Start from the beginning

The horned man smirked, shifting his eerie gaze to the girl standing on the rooftop.

"I wonder how a beautiful girl like you would taste," he mused, licking his lips.

Aizawa expected the girl to react with fear or anger-anything.

But instead, she remained silent, her cold gaze fixed on the bloodied limb in the demon's grasp.

Then, she finally spoke, her voice calm and unwavering.

"So, you're a pedophile, huh?"

A vein twitched on the demon's forehead.

"SHUT THE HELL UP AND LET ME EAT YOU ALREADY!" it roared, lunging at her with inhuman speed.

Aizawa's body tensed, prepared to intervene-

But before he could move, the girl leaped into the air, dodging the attack with grace, landing effortlessly on the opposite side of the rooftop.

The moonlight reflected off her blade as she unsheathed it. Aizawa's sharp eyes caught the inscription engraved along the metal:

"Send demons to hell."

The demon barely had time to react before she moved.

"Breath of the Sun-Dance: Enbu."

With a singular, fluid motion, she delivered a downward, arcing slash.

In the blink of an eye, the demon's head separated from its body.

For a brief moment, nothing happened.

Then, the body disintegrated into ash.

Aizawa remained frozen, watching in stunned silence.

What the hell just happened?

...

Kaori's POV

I gazed at the sky, uninterested in the shocked man below.

"Hey, kid," he finally spoke. "Don't you know that using your Quirk in public is illegal?"

I frowned slightly.

Quirk?

"What did you do to that man?" he continued, his tone growing serious. "Kid, you just killed someone."

I scoffed. "Person?" I repeated flatly. "You clueless people don't even realize how many children it's already eaten."

He didn't seem convinced.

A moment later, something wrapped around my body-some kind of fabric.

Restraining me?

The man sighed, rubbing his temple before speaking. "We need to talk."

...

[Time Skip - Interrogation Room]

Kaori sat on a chair, her expression unreadable. Across from her sat the man from earlier, along with another unfamiliar figure.

The new man leaned forward slightly, his tone firm but non-threatening. "I'll only ask a few questions, so please answer honestly, okay?"

She hummed in response.

"What's your name?"

"Tsugikuni Kaori." Truth.

"Age?"

"Fourteen." Truth.

"Why are you carrying a katana?"

"Because it's part of my job." Truth.

"What job?"

Kaori paused before answering. "Are you two aware of the existence of man-eating demons?"

Both men looked taken aback, but Aizawa responded.

"Man-eating demons? Isn't that just a myth?"

Kaori's gaze remained steady. "They exist. They devour human flesh to gain power. The one you saw earlier was one of them."

Aizawa was silent, mulling over her words.

She glanced around, her gaze landing on a nearby calendar.

"Year 20XX..." she murmured before frowning. "Isn't it supposed to be the Taisho period?"

Her words made the two men look at her in disbelief.

"Kid, where the hell do you live?" Aizawa asked, baffled.

[Time Skip - Discussion with Pro Heroes]

( I skipped the other scenes cause it's unnecessary and I'm lazy haha )

Aizawa explained the events of the night to the other heroes, detailing how the so-called man had turned to ash.

"She also mentioned demons and called that thing a 'man-eating demon.'"

Nezu hummed in thought, sipping his tea.

"So," All Might finally spoke, "What do we do with her?"

Present Mic grinned. "Why don't I take her in? I have plenty of space!"

"No," the heroes deadpanned in unison.

"WHY?!"

"You'd destroy her eardrums," Aizawa deadpanned.

Midnight perked up. "Then I'll take her in! I'd love to have such a cute girl at my place!"

"Absolutely not."

"Why?!"

"We can't let you corrupt the poor child," Vlad King stated.

Midnight sulked in the corner.

"Then who's taking her?" All Might asked.

"I will," Aizawa stated.

Silence.

Then-

"WHY DID NO ONE OPPOSE THAT?!"

Nezu simply smiled. "Then it's settled. Aizawa, please bring her to U.A. tomorrow."

Aizawa gave a small nod, already dreading the responsibility.

Kaori, meanwhile, remained in her seat, staring at the stars.

She had a feeling that something big was about to happen.

And maybe-just maybe-she would meet her soulmate here.

Taisho Secret:

Aizawa won't admit it, but Kaori cutting off that demon's head did scare him a little.

When Kaori first saw a car, she was internally shocked but kept a blank face.

Kaori is secretly anxious about meeting her soulmate-but, of course, she wouldn't show it.
