Chapter one: Performance

Luke's POV
I stand on stage, microphone in hand.
Why was I so nervous? I've done this hundreds of times, don't tell me death is scarring me now..
I take a deep breath before beginning to sing, not bothering to spare the girl beside me a glance.

Once the music goes quiet a open my eyes and..

BANG!

I look down at the blood pooling underneath my feet, not bothering to look at the girls body.

Disgusting...

I feel a cold piece of metal wrap around my neck as I look up at the scoreboard.

'83 to 40'

These are getting to easy.

As Im escorted to the dinning room I see a man with long, white hair draped over his shoulders getting dragged down the hall.

A new one already?

Its awful soon..

The aliens push me into the dinning room, where Im seated across from a pale, green haired man with a smaller frame. My 'collar' is put back on me as the food is brought out.

Its colorless and flavorless.

"Luke?" The green haired man speaks, his voice unnaturally soothing and soft. "What?"

"How long have you been here?" "I don't even know my age, how would I know that?"

The rooms eerily quiet this time...

Why did this round feel so different?

"Anyways I'm ivan!" The green haired man— Ivan, apparently —speaks. "Didn't ask."

While I'm trying to eat in peace an alien —tall, pale and ugly with black hair draped over its head— taps me on the shoulder. "Hm?" "ereh si retsam ruoy" "r-really?! He's here?!" The alien nods and escorts me to the entrance. Another alien, tall and with its rib cage open and on display walks up to us, it's feet making an uncomfortable noise against the ground.

"Ekul?"

I raise my hand. "I'm here." The aliens exchange a greeting before my leash is given back to my 'master'.

I'm taken to a bar and we get seated.

"Nam-uh yad ruoy saw woh?"

"It's just pronounced human, and it was fine, Nanami lost though." "Ima-nan..?" "Yes Nanami" "esolc?" "Eh not really."

"Sorry for the wait-! What can I get you?"
