"As outlined in the consent form, once each of the games has concluded you may call for a vote. If the majority agrees you may take the accumulated prize money and leave."

A short pause made my bones shake with nervousness before the silence ended.

"Ensuring our players are participating in the games of their own volition is always our highest priority"

I saw some people nod making up their decision. I didn't have to think about mine. I had already figured it out.

"With that the voting may now begin"

The lights had been turned down and there were now lines on the floor that separated an O from an X.

Blue and red lights reflected onto my face making me blink quickly.

"If you wish to continue playing press the blue button with the 'O'. If you wish to stop playing press the red button with the 'X'"

Everyone and everything was silent for a beat before it was broken by the guard. "You will vote in order of player number, from highest to lowest... player 456"

Everyone turned to Gi-hun muttering words that I couldn't hear.

He began to make his way through the crowd of people and down the space in between the red and blue lights.

His footsteps echoed through the crowded area before a women's voice made him halt.

"This is all useless there's no point!" I looked up and eyed the woman curiously. She was sitting on the highest bed her one knee bent.

"Just as you didn't get to choose as you entered this world, you don't get to pick when your gonna leave it"

Everyone's heads were turned in her direction. "The time and place of each of your deaths was decided from the instant you were born there's no changing it now!"

Her beady eyes ran over everyone in the room. "No matter how hard you try to fight it, you'll never be able to escape your fate!"

Gi-hun turned back to the voting stand and started walking again before he stopped in front of the buttons.

He brought his hand up slamming it down onto the red button and a loud sound reverberated through my ears.

The screen on top of us all changed turning into a one on the left side and a 0 on the right side.

"Once you've voted, please attach the patch your given to the right side of your chest and stand in the area marked with the corresponding symbol"

I watched as the guard passed Gi-hun a patch with an X on it and he placed it on his chest.

He turned around and walked over to the area he needed to be in.

"Player 454"

I watched her make her way to the stand with hurried steps before she brought her hand down on the 'O'.

I let out a sigh of sadness but I understood them. I couldn't blame them for wanting money. I wanted it too but I wouldn't kill my self just for it.

She was passed a blue patch and once she placed it on she stepped into the blue area.

"Player 453"

I blocks it out after that, my brain not wanting to think of the possibility that I won't be going home.

I clocked back in when I heard "player 388" but I couldn't tell what he voted as the pounding in my head worsened. I attempted to stand but I fell back down after.

I tried to listen closely for the other number I wanted to hear and when I did my ears perked up.

"Player 333"
