The square guard stopped everyone excitement. "But before we vote, we will reveal how much prize money has accumulated from the first game"
The guard reached their covered hand up and pressed a button. The ceiling rumbled and the lights turned into a yellow hue.
The sound of digital trilling hit everyone's ears. I looked up at the piggy bank and saw a tube lowering down into it.
Before I knew it stacks and stacks of money started falling into it. The people who were hiding came out from there places and stared at the money.
Everyone began walking forward with their eyes still locked on the piggy bank.
Myung-gi stood up and walked forward with them. I furrowed my eyebrows. What is he doing?
The money stopped falling and the guard yelled to us again. "A total of 91 players were eliminated during the first game. Therefore a total of 9.1 billion won has been accumulated so far"
I moved my eyes away from Myung-gi and back to the money. It's a lot of money and I wish I could have it, but I don't only have myself to think about.
My baby is my first priority and that is final. If leaving these games means I have to live on the streets until and after they are born for their safety, I would do it in a heart beat.
"If you decide to stop playing and quit the games now the remaining 365 players will split the 9.1 billion won amongst themselves."
I looked down sadly. That won't be enough to pay off the debts. I stopped that thought. I will figure out a way I can't let me or my baby die in here.
The old man, player 100, called out to the guards "okay, how much to share?"
The guard answered with something that disappointed everyone in the room. "Each player will get a share of 24,931,500 won"
The board that showed the number of players turned to the prize per person with a click.
I heard player 124 whispering to player 230. "Are you serious man, come on we almost died. 24 million that's all are you fucking kidding me?"
I heard player 230 murmur "20 mil?" He put two fingers up. "What happened to 45 billion!" His voice was raised higher now.
"As per the rules of the games 100 million won is added to the piggy bank for each player eliminated."
My stomach seemed to spin in circles at his statement. Each death equals more money.
"If you decide to play the next game and more players are eliminated, then the total prize money will increase again accordingly"
"So say we make it to the end of all this, then how much do we get?" Player 100 said.
"As previously mentioned the total amount of prize money for all 456 player is 45.6 billion won."
I watched as everyone turned to the people beside them their eyes wide.
"That 45.6 billion will be divided amongst the players who make it through all six games without being eliminated"
Once the guard was finished talking someone beside the old man spoke. "Okay so that would mean that if you're the only one at the end, you'd get it all?"
The guard nodded "that is correct"
The players talked amongst themselves again before stopping when another person shouted out.
"So we'll still be able to call for a vote if we make it all the way through the next game too?"
The money has got them all convinced and if it wasn't for my baby I would be too.
