RE: Farzen Refinery TDE Collapse
Just wrapped up operations at the site. Readings on the Persistent GQF have stabilised at a consistent 2.81 with CDEs and 3H Entropic Imprinting. Tzomiki's put in his recommendation for a full site quarantine. There's a pretty high density of Frost Dreamborn spawning in here. Thankfully, no one from the survey team was lost, though there were more than enough injuries to go around.
As usual, the Disposables weren't so lucky. A few died because of that stupid drill, a few more pushing the limits of a superpsychic [redacted] toy, then there were the unfortunate sods sent in to kill the phoenix rat. Still...most of them survived, most in one piece too.
Wish there was a better way to do this, but.... I mean, they're criminals but still... It feels wrong, somehow. You keep telling me not to think about it too much, that if not them, someone else, but I just...I can't help but feeling like this is wrong.
As far as Relics, there were a few OoIs present. Tzomiki gave me permission to share a few of the prelims.
OoI #1 (preliminary desg. FRZN-RF:TDE O-086983)
FRZN-RF:TDE O-086983 is an industrial GQF Final Refinement Centrifuge appearing to be of local make. Standing 303cm tall by 640cm wide and 700cm long, painted chartreuse with a smiley face carved into one side. O-086983 possesses the following anomalous properties:
1) Can only operate unsupervised and without direct power.
2) Will output refined Glitched Matter at a consistent rate of 1kg per day from any input.
3) If observed while operational will discharge foul odour and cease operations. O-083983 will also turn crimson and its smiley face will turn into an angry face.
4) If operating in a lit room, will turn green, face will turn into a squinting face, and will emit a shrill alarm until unlit.
5) Will operate while being recorded only if recording is not actively monitored by observer.
Site Chief recommends additional testing, registry with Shrouded Vael Reliquarium, and consideration for specialised containment and use in production of refined Glitch Matter.
Site Chief's Addendum:
Researchers are not sure how O-086983 becomes aware that it is being observed, only that it becomes instantly aware of being observed whenever anything does so. Staff had to construct an improvised containment chamber on-site to prevent O-086983 from stink-bombing the vicinity any time a fly would get too close.
The only thing O-086983 doesn't respond to is O-114720. The reason for this is unclear.
OoI #2 (preliminary desg. FRZN-RF:TDE O-108753)
FRZN-RF:TDE O-108753 is a hand drill appearing to be of local make and for use as a maintenance tool. O-108753 is black in colour with persistent bloodstains around the drill bit, head, and handle areas. It has one drill bit—a large hole-boring bit—that cannot be removed. O-108753 possesses the following anomalous properties.
1) Does not require power to operate.
2) When operated, as the drill bores a hole in a medium, it causes a sympathetic borehole in the operator at a random location.
3) Operator is unable to feel the hole being bored into them.
4) Requires human operator to function.
