She sat down completing a case file yet her mind blinked with thoughts of KS. The concern of Haseena was noticeable yet her anger overpowered her emotions. She threw the pen in frustration leaning back in her chair.

Why did you have to do this KS? How many times have I told you that violence is never the right answer? She groaned, massaging her temples. Haseena was well aware that KS has only pure intentions but she could never forget the fact that KS had taken a form of a criminal. She could never justify KS's actions. Will she never forgive KS, haseena wondered. After all KS saved your life.

A knock interrupted Haseena's thoughts. She looked up and saw Puspha Ji staring at her from the doorway.

"Madam Sir, are you okay?" she asked, concerned.

Haseena faked a smile. "Haan Puspha Ji, I'm fine, just a small headache."

Puspha Ji nodded, Haseena's smile alerting her that she was lying. "Madam Sir please go home and take some rest."

"Haan Puspha Ji I will once the work is complete."

Puspha Ji strolled inside, a defiant look in her eyes.

"Madam Sir....go home. You need rest. I'll handle the work."

Haseena looked at her, opening her mouth in protest yet she stopped short. She smiled inwardly, a slight fear creeping in her. This was not her junior, Puspha Singh. This was her mother.

Haseena got up nodding at Puspha Ji, the relief flashing in her eyes and left.

Haseena stopped at the HQ to meet Anubhav before she retired to her home. She was not ready to meet KS, not yet anyways.

She saluted Anubhav, settling in the chair in front of him. He leaned forward, his chin resting atop his hands, his gaze directly staring at Haseena.

"Haseena Ji, how is KS?" he asked, his brotherly concern flashing over his posture of DSP.

"She's fine now sir. She needs to rest."

Anubhav nodded, waves of relief washing over her. Anubhav looked at Haseena, noting the debilitations pricking her eyes.

"Haseena Ji...I know that KS's actions are unjustifiable but..."

But what sir?" Haseena interrupted him. "She betrayed me, she betrayed my trust" she said, her eyes piercing Anubhav.

Anubhav leaned back, his mind unsettled at Haseena's anger. He knew that Haseena's anger was misplaced. It was at him not KS.

"Haan Haseena Ji I agree" he said, stuttering over his words. "But Haseena Ji, KS is regretting her actions. She's completely ashamed of what she did."

Haseena chuckled sending shivers through Anubhav's spine. "Haan sir, I know that KS is regretting now but that doesn't change the fact that she betrayed me. Nor does it change that she betrayed her uniform."

Haseena balled her fists under the table, struggling to regain her composure.

"Haseena Ji, I can assure you that KS never had any intentions of betraying you or the uniform" his voice echoed throughout Haseena's mind, digging up memories of the past. "Haseena Ji, when a person is completely in regret and is willing to apologize, don't you think that it overpowers the fault?" he asked.

Anubhav had asked the question that he had yearned to ask from the beginning. He knew that he too had to earn her forgiveness. His eyes trained on Haseena, his heart racing a thousand miles.

"Nothing can overpower betrayal sir" she said stressing over the word Sir, directly aiming it at him.

He gulped, the hopes in him diminishing with each second. "But Haseena Ji, you once said that everyone deserves a second chance. So doesn't KS deserve a second chance? Don't I?"
