Steps to Dismounting a Horse

1. Take both feet out of the stirrups.

2. Put the reins and whip (if you have one) in your left hand. Put your right hand on the front of he saddle.

3. Lean forward and swing your right leg over the horse's back. Make sure not to hit the horse.

4. Land on the ground gently with your knees bent.

5. You should land facing the side of the horse with your reins (and whip) in your left hand and your right hand on the saddle.

6. Run up your stirrups and loosen your girth. ( get help if needed).
