Third Person POV.
Freen couldn’t help but blink a few times as she stood there. Becky’s face was so close—too close. She stepped back awkwardly, still holding Aya. Becky, on the other hand, felt her cheeks heating up, even though she tried to act composed.
“Uh… S-so, enjoy your time with Aya, okay?” Becky quickly said, clearing her throat as she stepped away from the doorway.
“Of course. Don’t worry, Becky. I’ll take good care of her,” Freen replied, regaining her composure and giving a reassuring smile.
Aya, however, had other ideas. “Wait! Mommy, come with us! It’ll be more fun if it’s the three of us!”
Freen and Becky exchanged surprised glances, both unsure how to respond.
“Uh, baby, this is your time with Daddy,” Becky said gently.
“But why not all of us?” Aya pouted, crossing her little arms. “You said you’re both my parents, so we should do family things together!”
Freen couldn’t help but chuckle, though she secretly hoped Becky would agree. “She has a point, Becky.”
Becky shot her a look, one that said not helping. But Aya’s wide, pleading eyes softened her resolve.
“Fine,” Becky sighed. “Let me grab my bag.”
Aya cheered, hugging her mom tightly before turning to Freen. “See? I told you Mommy can’t say no to me!”
Freen laughed again, the sound warm and genuine. “You’re definitely a Daddy’s girl.”
A "Family" Outing
Minutes later, the three of them were seated in Freen’s car, Aya chattering away about all the places she wanted to visit. Becky sat stiffly in the passenger seat, glancing occasionally at Freen, who seemed unnaturally calm.
“Where are we going first, Aya?” Freen asked as she adjusted the rearview mirror to look at the excited little girl in the backseat.
“Ice cream! Let’s go to the same shop as last time!” Aya declared.
Becky groaned. “Aya, you disappeared on us last time we were there. Do you really want to give me a heart attack again?”
“Sorry, Mommy. I promise I’ll stay close this time!” Aya said with her best innocent face.
Freen smirked. “Don’t worry, Becky. I’ll keep a close eye on her. You can relax for once.”
Becky rolled her eyes. “You say that like I don’t already.”
Freen didn’t respond but simply smiled. Becky noticed the slight curve of her lips and quickly looked out the window, annoyed at how it made her heart flutter.
At the Ice Cream Shop
The shop was bustling with families, the scent of waffle cones and sugary delights filling the air. Aya immediately dragged both her parents to the counter, pointing excitedly at her favorite flavor.
“Chocolate with rainbow sprinkles, please!” she said to the server.
“And for you, miss?” the server asked Becky.
“Uh, vanilla, I guess,” Becky replied, still distracted by Aya’s energy.
“And for you, sir?” the server asked Freen.
Freen laughed. “I’m not a ‘sir,’ but I’ll take strawberry, please.”
Becky smirked. “That’s what you get for dressing like that.”
Freen glanced at her outfit—her usual loose shirt and jeans—and shrugged. “I can’t help it if I’m mistaken for handsome.”
Becky rolled her eyes again but couldn’t hide the small smile forming on her lips.

A Quiet Moment
After they finished their ice cream, Aya ran off to the small play area nearby, leaving Freen and Becky sitting across from each other at the table.
“So,” Freen began, swirling her spoon in her empty cup. “You didn’t have to come, you know. I wouldn’t have minded spending time with Aya alone.”
Becky looked at her, narrowing her eyes. “Oh, please. If I hadn’t come, you’d probably lose her in five minutes.”
Freen laughed softly. “You really don’t trust me, huh?”
Becky hesitated. “It’s not that… It’s just—”
“It’s okay,” Freen interrupted gently. “I get it. You’re protective of her. I actually admire that about you.”
Becky blinked, caught off guard by the sudden compliment. She quickly looked away, pretending to watch Aya. “Don’t get all sentimental on me now.”
Freen grinned. “Too late.”

The Surprise
Just as they were settling into a comfortable silence, Aya ran back to them, her face lit up with excitement.
“Daddy! Mommy! Look what I found!” Aya held up a small, handmade bracelet she had bought with her pocket money.
“It’s for you!” she said, slipping it onto Freen’s wrist.
“And you, Mommy!” Aya handed another bracelet to Becky.
Becky stared at the simple but thoughtful gift, her chest tightening. “Thank you, baby. It’s beautiful.”
“Now we all match!” Aya said proudly. “It’s like we’re a real family!”
Both Freen and Becky froze at her words, exchanging glances. For a moment, neither of them knew what to say.
Aya didn’t notice the tension and instead hugged them both tightly. “I love you, Mommy and Daddy!”
Freen smiled softly, her gaze lingering on Becky. “Looks like Aya’s determined to keep us together.”
Becky felt her heart skip a beat but quickly shook her head. “Don’t read too much into it.”
Freen chuckled. “Too late for that, too.”
