Recalling Affection

Chapter 12

As they all piled into Saga’s cozy hall room after dinner, the warm and relaxed atmosphere settled over them. The room was modest but welcoming, with soft cushions scattered around the floor and dim fairy lights strung across the walls. Vianna took the initiative and brought out a bottle and a small stack of handwritten truth-and-dare prompts. “Alright, everyone, time to spice things up! Truth and dare, the classic reunion game,” she declared with a mischievous grin.

The group arranged themselves in a circle, with Taehyung and Vianna side by side, Jungkook casually leaning against the armrest of the sofa, Saga seated on a floor cushion near him, and Jimin sprawled across the opposite end, arms crossed as he watched everyone with mild interest due to Jungkook. As Jungkook was constantly glancing at Saga.

“Okay, rules,” Taehyung said, clapping his hands together. “No skipping turns. If you refuse to answer or complete a dare, you get a penalty.” “What’s the penalty?” Jimin asked suspiciously. Vianna smirked. “You’ll have to do 20 pushups while we all cheer for you.”

Saga chuckled, but there was a distant look in her eyes for a split second that Taehyung noticed. He exchanged a subtle glance with Vianna, his brows knitting together. Vianna tilted her head slightly as if she got a hint that they needed to keep an eye on her, as something was running odd in her.

“Alright, let’s start,” Vianna said, spinning the bottle. It landed on Jimin, who rolled his eyes but smirked.

“Truth or dare?” Taehyung asked.
“Truth,” Jimin replied confidently.

Vianna leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Alright, Jimin. What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done in front of a girl you liked?”

Jimin groaned, leaning back dramatically, looking all of them and glancing at Saga “Do we really have to go there?” Saga also cheered Yes. “Yes!” the group chorused, laughing along with Saga. This made Jimin a lil bit excited and also he got an idea to show Jungkook also that how close he was to her.

“Fine,” Jimin sighed. “There was this one time in college... I tried to impress a girl by playing the guitar, but I didn’t know how to tune it properly. Ended up breaking a string mid-song and hitting myself in the face.” Jimin said this incident of him and Saga only to give her a little hint that no other girl existed in his life. The group burst into laughter, and even Saga couldn’t hold back a giggle. Saga took it so lightly that like it never happened neither she remembered. But this made a pang in his heart which he suppressed himself and continued. Vianna also joined the memory,"yeah Jim...I remembered it well. How you tried to impress Saga but failed miserably...ha ha ha..."."You remember Saga huh..?"Vianna asked her keeping an eye on her like she was checking something.

"Really...ohh..."Saga became embarassed as she wasn't able to recall anything."ohh...yeah..yeah....ha ha...such an incident it was na..."she said hesitantly averting glances from everyone specially Jungkook. Where Jungkook was just in a jealous mode that before him this casanova guy tried to line up with her. Taehyung and Vianna exchange glances of understanding.

The game continued with lighthearted dares and truths. Taehyung had to sing a cheesy love song to Vianna, who blushed and giggled while teasing him mercilessly. Jungkook was dared to mimic one of his dance moves in the cramped space, earning whistles from everyone. Saga, when her turn came, hesitated slightly, her eyes darting between the group as if unsure what to pick.

“Truth or dare, Saga?” Vianna asked gently.
“Uhm…” Saga paused for longer than usual, her brow furrowing. “Truth… I guess?”

Vianna and Taehyung exchanged another glance. “Alright,” Taehyung said slowly. “What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to do but never had the courage to?” Saga looked thoughtful, but her response took longer than expected. She opened her mouth to answer, then closed it, a flicker of confusion crossing her face. “I… um… wait, I had something in mind, but I can’t…” She trailed off, looking embarrassed as she fidgeted with the hem of her sweater, her throat was getting dry with every moment.

Jungkook, noticing her discomfort, leaned forward slightly and offering her a glass of water seeing her. “ Drink water a lil. Take your time, Sparkle. No rush,” he said softly, his voice calming. Saga glanced at him, her cheeks flushing, but the warmth in his eyes seemed to ground her. She took the glass and have few sips of water. Then Saga spoke, “I think… I always wanted to try skydiving, but I don’t know why I never did.” “Skydiving? Really? That’s unexpected, I was always thinking you feared it” Jimin said, raising an eyebrow. Vianna jumped in, her tone light but her gaze sharp as she studied Saga. “Well, maybe we should plan a trip someday. You’d be the bravest one out of all of us.”

As the game went on, Saga occasionally faltered when asked questions or completing dares, and her hesitation didn’t go unnoticed by Taehyung and Vianna. Once, when asked to name three favorite movies, she paused, struggling to remember. “Wait… I know this… oh, what’s that one with the guy and the… ugh, why can’t I remember?” she said, her frustration evident, her hands were sweating, her breathings became uneven.“Relax, Saga. It’s not a test,” Jungkook said, his tone protective unaware of the facts. “You’ll think of it later.” But Jimin got a lil concerned,"Princess no problem...dont push so hard..ok if you have one name thats enough."

Taehyung leaned slightly toward Vianna, his voice low so no one else could hear. “She’s forgetting things, and the hesitation in decision-making… that’s not like her I guess... Is she always like that ?” Vianna nodded subtly. “I noticed too. Never, she is not like that. We should talk to her about it, but not tonight. Let’s not make her uncomfortable in front of everyone. Because I want her to suffer what am I thinking she is suffering from ” Taehyung also nodded.

The bottle spun again, landing on Jungkook. “Truth or dare?” Vianna asked, trying to keep the mood light. “Truth,” Jungkook replied, leaning back casually. “Alright, who’s your favorite person in this room?” Vianna teased, though her eyes darted to Saga for a reaction. Jungkook’s gaze flicked to Saga, and he smiled slightly. “That’s too easy,” he said, his voice soft. “Sparkle.”

Saga’s eyes widened and her heart skipped a beat, and the room went silent for a beat before Vianna and Taehyung burst into exaggerated cheers. “Woohoo! Jungkook’s playing favorites!” Taehyung teased, while Jimin crossed his arms, muttering, “Why am I not surprised?” Saga, flustered, her pink cheeks became red now,"He must be joking just to..um...""Oh, Sparkle really you think that. Then I must have said Taehyung..na..."Jungkook smirked and uttered making Saga fluster more and Jimin growl more,"You must tell honest answer in truth and dare dude, no one is here for your fake attention..ok.." Jungkook always in a chill mood,"bro bro bro.....there should be jealousy involved in game."this made Jimin more irritated.

By the end of the game, the atmosphere was filled with laughter, warmth, little fight but Taehyung and Vianna couldn’t shake their concern. As the group began to wind down for the night, Vianna pulled Taehyung aside. “We need to keep an eye on her,” she whispered. “This could be something serious.”

Taehyung nodded, his expression serious. “Agreed. But let’s not alarm her just yet. She might not even realize something’s off, this can make things worse”

Meanwhile, Jungkook and Jimin helped Saga tidy up the living room, though Jungkook’s subtle glances at her didn’t go unnoticed by Jimin, whose frustration simmered just beneath the surface. As the night ended, the group left with fond memories, though the undercurrent of concern for Saga lingered in Taehyung and Vianna’s minds. So Taehyung and Vianna stayed with them. They slept in a same bed where Vianna in middle, Saga and Taehyung on both sides. Vianna hugging Saga and Taehyung hugging Vianna.

Taehyung started whispering in Vianna's ear,"baby...is Saga asleep?" Vianna looked at Saga who was deep in slumber and whispered back,"Yes..she is asleep." Taehyung slowly started caressing her belly,whispered "shouldnt we be doing something on our first night in my home town huh...!!" Vianna smirked and turned his side,caressing his hairs through cheeks,"Saga is here Tae...but if you are too in need we can have kiss I guess..."

And just the moment they were going to kiss...
