"Trinity Taylor-Diaz walked into a bar with Mariana Cruz" sounded like the beginning of a really bad joke.

Considering that she really had walked into a bar, and her life became a joke afterward, maybe there was something to it.

They had gone out to celebrate Trinity's birthday. She freely admitted to indulging a bit too much.

Turning thirty single hadn't been part of Trinity's life plan. Not to mention, adding insult to injury, her boyfriend had broken up with her three days before.

So...not part of her life plan.

But she also hadn't planned that an angelic man with golden hair and blue eyes, his smile so lovingly trusting, would be there to pick her up.

He found her crying in the bathroom corridor, since the women's restrooms were always full. He asked her if she was okay, did he need to call somebody, did she have any friends nearby, was she drunk...

His care completely melted her heart and she traded him her phone number without a second thought.

She never expected he'd call her back the next day.

This began a whirlwind romance filled with passion and expensive trips to the tropics. He said he loved her, he called her dear.

She never knew after they married it would all disappear.

They had a secretive ceremony in the government sector. The third prince of Carolina didn't want his love life to be a scandal and she agreed. He was hers and she didn't want to share, especially not with the media.

They married on a blissful Sunday in late August, bellflowers in her hair and the taste of sunshine on his lips.

For a while, it was wonderful. But then duty called.

He never had time for her anymore, only seeing her on Sundays. She'd go to bed and when she woke up he was always gone.

Poor Trinity. Lonely Trinity. Don't complain, Dear, I warned you about my work. You can't run a country with just one man. There are so many meetings and committees, competitions of opinion. You'd be bored sick, Dear.
