Before i go...

There was a knock on the door of Reece's office letting him know that someone was behind.

It was four days before Christmas and instead of closing up for the holidays Reece was still finishing up some last minute paperwork.

"Come in!" Said Reece loudly signaling Kelis to go in.

"Hi!" Her sweet, mellow voice immediately made him look up and saw that it was in fact her.

Standing in front of him with a genuine smile plastered on her face, she placed the red gift bags on his desk.

"I know that I didn't have too but when I saw them I thought of you". Reece was speechless.

"Kelis i-" He stopped speaking arising from his seat making his way over to her.

"Thank you mama" closer to him he said while hugging her tightly. Pulling away from each other Reece wasted no time in grabbing one of the bags and digging into them.

Kelis immediately gave him a slap on his hand. "Aht! No sir. You have to make sure that you open it on Christmas and not a day before that".

Reece pouted, placing the bag back on his desk.

How would she even- his thoughts got interrupted by Kelis speaking again.

"And trust me I'll know if you do" Warned Kelis.

Shawty a mind reader now?

"So Christmas eve, you got any plans?" Reece asked her.

"Yep, my family and I are going down to Baltimore to spend it with my family" Reece could see the way her face lit up when she said that.

Since day one he could see that she was all about family. The way she treated Vi spoke volumes about how kind she was knowing that they were from a different side of the tracks and the way she told him off at Gio's that night when they first met.

Each day that went by he was growing to like her more and more.

Hearing that she wasn't going to be around for possibly more than a couple days left him feeling sad. Which was a feeling Reece hadn't caught himself feeling for any woman since Robyn.

"Yo, you gonna leave me for a days at a time?" Kelis chuckled while nodding her head.

"Well it's gonna be a week-" She was cut off by his groaning.

"A WEEK!? Nah man imma just have to come down there witchu!" Kelis chortled but she knew that he was being serious.

"Boy I'll be back before you know it!" She rolled her eyes saying.

Reece and Kelis were growing to become what they're meant to become. The only problem was the obstacles that were put in their way were approaching quickly and they couldn't even see them coming.
