Chapter 16

"Madam, I'm sorry...." She muttered.

"Karishma madam, what did I teach you?" Babita Ji asked.

KS blinked staring at her before answering. "That patience is not a weakness and that violence is not a solution."

KS whispered averting her gaze.

"Keep your head up and say it again!" she ordered.

KS lifted her head and repeated the words a little louder.

"Again!"

Annoyed, KS repeated the words louder that her heart screamed in fire. As the words rolled out, she felt herself visibly relax, her anger dissolved.

"Feeling better?" Babita Ji asked.

"Haan madam."

She lifted her head, her eyes set on Babita Ji, a sense of respect acknowledging her mentor.

"Karishma madam, I know it's not easy but we have to be patient. Any rash decisions will only derail this case madam."

"Haan madam, I understand. I'm sorry for losing my temper."

"Go help your team. They need your madam."

KS looked at her, a subtle nod forming in her conveying the unspoken respect she had in her heart. She saluted her and left to help her team in solving the case.

Several hours later, the team flocked inside Haseena's cabin updating her regarding the case.

"Madam Sir..." SS began. "I've tracked the accounts and the accounts that Ms. Shrinidi showed us are already disabled."

"SS if those accounts are disabled, how is Shreya scamming money?"

Babita Ji stepped forward. "Madam, I think she is using different accounts."

"Haan madam sir...she has set up multiple accounts registered under different names. After one person donates a significant amount she immediately closes that account."

"So that means the evidence we have now is useless..." KS yelled, balling her fists.

Pushpa Ji edged closer to her placing a hand on her balled fists. She looked at KS, a deep look of understanding passing before them as KS resigned and composed herself.

Haseena was silent contemplating the evidence in her mind.

"CC" she began. "Have you received any new complaints?"

"Yes madam sir. I've talked to a few people but madam sir without evidence..." he stopped his sentence trailing off midair.

"Madam Sir....what if we set up an account donating money?" Babita Ji asked.

"Haan Babita Ji that's what I was thinking." She looked at SS. "SS, is there a way we can contact her for donating money?"

"Yes madam sir."

"Okay good, SS, setup a fake account asking to donate money. Collect all evidence from the beginning."

"Ji madam sir."

"Madam Sir...." KS stepped forward. "What if we bring her in...for a routine inquiry? We have a complaint against her."

"No KS, if we bring her to the station now we'll lose the opportunity to gather evidence. We'll see how this plan works out. Keep me updated."

They saluted her in unison and left the cabin.

After almost a day of hard work collaborating with the Cyber Crimes division, SS had gathered ample evidence against Shreya. She rushed in to update Haseena.
