Without realizing it as Fusion was watching Subaru on a murder spree, a wide smile was formed on his face.

"Ara ara~, you seem to be happy."

His companion, through manipulating Subaru into his current self, Elsa, spoke.

"He is magnificent. Isn't he?"

Fusion said with a smile that couldn't really reach his eyes.

"Can I ask you something?" Elsa said with a carefree manner.

"Go ahead."

"What did you do to the sword saint back then?"

Fusion looked away slightly.

"I sealed him. Although, let's say. A warrior of your caliber would spend an eternity in there while he... 20 minutes at most, and he would be out."

As Elsa listened attentively, she became quite surprised to hear his take on their battle with Reinhard.

"And if he had gotten out..?"

"He would have a serious advantage over me as he had seen one of my most powerful moves."

"Oh, I see..."

They gotten quiet...

"Can I ask you another question?"

"Yeah?"

"Let's say...you and the witch got into a fight... what would happen?"

Elsa was like a little girl staging her favorite figures against each other.

"She definitely is a troublesome opponent...and she would give me a really hard time."

"Would you lose, though?

"Nah I'd- probably lose with my current arsenal..."

"But like him... my growth still continues..."

He said the last part whilst looking at Subaru.

"So what comes next? Do we kill him again?"

Fusion gotten quiet.

"The last cycle is near. He is almost ready. You will duel him."

Elsa seemed to enjoy the idea.

"Do you believe he would be any good in a fight against me?"

"He will be."

Subaru was mindlessly making his way to the loot house to challenge Elsa once more. Until he came across with a man taller than him by a few inches, has the gaze of a wolf stalking his prey and sharp features on his face, making him all the way more threatening. He was covered by dark armor and a slight glimmer of a blade could be seen at his waist.

"What...what do you want?"

Subaru asked defensively as he clenched the fruit knife hidden in his pocket.

"Aren't you tired, child? Constantly suffering because of a weakness that you can not overcome..."

Subaru was dumbfounded. What is this man talking about? Could it be that he has insight into his situation?

Subaru asked, Hoping for some little empathy, some understanding.

"I know, child. And I bring you a gift."

He opened his palm, something dark and shadowy glimmering with a malicious shimmer within it.
