"Madam Sir....come dance" SS yelled without stopping.
"Aarey no SS. I'll stay here."
"That's not possible madam sir" said KS standing with her hands on her hip. "As our senior you should join us."
Haseena watched in horror as KS dragged her to the makeshift stage in the middle of the room. It didn't take long for everyone to be affected by the music and soon everyone was cheering, shouting and dancing.
After dancing, everyone flopped on the couch panting. They were exhausted yet their hearts were screaming in happiness. KS stood in the middle surrounded by her family as she felt her tensions ebbing away from her. After a while, KS heard Haseena call out to SS who stood up and went to the middle calling everyone's attention.
"Karishma madam" she said still wheezing for breath. "Madam, it's been two years since we met and this is the first time we celebrated your birthday" she said, a hint of anger in her voice. KS looked up at her and whispered sorry as SS continued. "But still, madam we are all one family and you mean a lot to me madam, not just as a senior but as my sister. Honestly, madam there's no MPT family without you."
CC and Puspha Ji too shared heartfelt speeches and KS felt her façade drowning away. Last, Haseena got up as KS waited in anticipation. She felt the whole room become silent waiting for Haseena to speak.
Haseena looked at KS and immediately KS's heart ached with tears.
"KS, I've been thinking a lot about what to say and honestly I don't have enough words to explain our bond" she said, looking lost. "So, I thought of sharing a small poem for you."
"It is special to have a bond,
That words cannot define,
Between two souls entwined,
With life and fate.
We fought in battles together,
Ending toughest adversities.
Our laughter echoed through,
The deepest nights.
As the time may shift,
And the seasons change,
You and me will always connected,
As we beat through one heart,
Traveling yonder to infinite lives.
