Seraphina turned to look at him and smiled at him, pushing the urge to get out of there and into the depths of her being. She couldn't run, she was fine. They weren't anywhere near the toad-faced woman, "Definitely different from the common room."
Evan nodded in agreement "It is. I don't think I've really seen anything quite like it." He said before picking up the menu.
Seraphina glanced around the room again and shifted rather uncomfortably in her seat, but Evan didn't notice. "Have you ever been here before?" She asked after a pause.
Evan looked up from the menu "A few times." He admitted honestly and Seraphina nodded again at him.
"Oh so this is where you have all your first dates is it?" Seraphina said playfully.
Evan put the menu down on the table and smirked at her "Only the special ones."
Seraphina laughed and rolled her eyes playfully "Mm well I'm honored then, Mr. Rosier." She said looking back at him as she picked up the tea menu. Evan reached across the table and took her hand, rubbing the back of it with his thumb.
"I'm the one that's honored, Seraphina." He told her softly and she felt the blush quickly spread across her cheeks as his green eyes stared back at her. The pit in her stomach was now sharing the space with the butterflies.
"You'll have to tell me what's good here then since I haven't got a clue." She said lightly.
"There's a rose and hibiscus tea that's pretty popular." He said to her softly, but Seraphina's stomach lurched a little at the mention of rose and the overwhelming smell of it in Umbridge's office came rushing back.
"Not really my thing." She said lightly and Evan smiled a little more, squeezing her hand.
"I had a feeling you'd say that." He told and she laughed a little.
"Well you've just got me all figured out now don't you?" She asked as her eyes scanned over the menu and she settled with just an Earl Grey tea. She didn't want to risk trying something new and having to stomach it here of all places.
"I'd like to think so." He winked and Seraphina smiled a little more at his cockiness.
"I'll be the judge of that." She said, giving his hand another squeeze. Seraphina was fine with letting him believe that he had gotten her all figured out, and maybe in time he actually would but for now she was fine with having a few tricks up her sleeve if need be. Sometimes it was better if people assumed they knew her pretty well even though not all of her friends knew her really well. Maybe Theo and possibly Pansy did. Daphne and Astoria didn't count since they were practically her sisters.
"I'm sure you will be Miss Avery." He said smoothly as Madam Puddifoot came up to their table. She was a boisterous woman, whose cheeks were red from overheating. She seemed to be running the whole shop except for another student who she didn't recognize. It wasn't the busiest of days but she still had a slightly crazed, stressed look in her eyes. Her black hair was sticking to her forehead from the sweat and she smiled looking between the both of them.
"Couple's special then?" She asked in a sickly sweet voice.
"Yes, please," Evan told her and she nodded happily.
"Can I get an Earl Grey tea please?" Seraphina asked her politely and she nodded again and flicked her hand and a teapot came and sat itself down between her and Evan.
"Make that two." He added and Madam Puddifoot nodded a little, flicking her wand again and the teapot lifted itself and poured the steaming liquid into their cups.
