Her pov:
It was raining outside. The soft patter of raindrops created a rhythm as we stood at the bus stop, our clothes slightly damp and clinging to us. The chill in the air seemed to cut right through me, and I could feel a shiver run down my spine. I hugged myself, trying to rub some warmth into my arms, but the cold was relentless. Just then, he looked over, noticing me shivering. Without a word, he removed his hoodie and held it out to me.
"Here, take this," he said, his voice warm and gentle. "It'll help keep you warm." He stretched his arm toward me, offering the hoodie with a little smile. I looked at the hoodie, then back at him, feeling my cheeks flush. My heart skipped, but I had to play it cool.
"Don't act all tough in front of me," I said, smirking to hide my embarrassment. "Look at yourself-you're not made of steel. Just wear it yourself; I'm fine." I pushed his hands back toward him, but he grabbed my hand, his fingers firm yet soft around mine. In one gentle tug, he pulled me closer, leaving barely an inch between us. My breath caught as I stared up at him, noticing the tiny droplets still clinging to his wet hair, catching the faint light.
"Tough or not, I'm not letting you freeze," he whispered, his voice low and serious. "Just take it."
Reluctantly, I freed my hand from his grip, grabbed the hoodie, and muttered, "Fine, whatever." I slipped it on, feeling its warmth immediately. Silence settled over us as we both looked away, pretending to be interested in anything but each other. After what felt like an eternity, I finally broke the silence, glancing at him and giving a small smile.

His POV:
"All that, just to say..." she murmured, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Her ghungroo bracelet jingled softly with the movement, a sound that seemed to blend perfectly with the rhythm of the rain. "You didn't have to make such a big gesture for a silly thing like this, you idiot," she added, glancing down as she absentmindedly fiddled with her nails. I couldn't look at her right now; I didn't even know why I'd done it. It felt right, but now, in the silence, I felt exposed. I couldn't help but smile at her, though, and said, "Oh, hey, the rain stopped!"
She beamed and stood up, the usual sparkle returning to her eyes. "Finally! So, what should we do now?" She looked up at me, her wet hair framing her face, her earrings glistening. In that moment, she looked beautiful in a way that took my breath away. Her kurti was slightly damp, clinging to her arms, and I was so mesmerized that I didn't notice she was speaking again until she gave me a playful shove.
"Hey, wake up! So, what should we do?" she laughed, her voice bringing me back to the present.
"Oh... um, yeah, you tell me. What do you want to do?"
"Alright, let's go get some chaat," she suggested, her eyes lighting up. She reached out, grabbing my hand and pulling me toward the bus. Her bracelets jingled with every step, a soft music that filled the space around us. As we boarded, the bus was crowded, and we had to stand, her hand still wrapped in mine.
The crowd pushed and jostled, and someone bumped into her, making her stumble into me. She looked up, eyes wide, her face inches from mine. For a moment, we stood frozen, caught in each other's gaze as if nothing else mattered. More people crowded in, forcing her closer until there was no space between us. She lost her balance again, and I wrapped my arm around her waist, steadying her.
She glanced up, looking vulnerable and unsure, whispering a soft "Thank you" without meeting my eyes. Her cheeks were flushed, and I could feel her warmth against me. I leaned closer, tightening my arm around her slightly.
"It's better this way," I murmured. "You won't fall." She nodded, looking adorably shy, and I could feel my heart pounding faster than ever.
Finally, the bus ride ended, and we got off. She sighed, laughing, "That was insane."
"Yeah, it really was."
"But finally, we're here. Let's go for chaat!" she said, pointing toward the stalls, and her enthusiasm made me chuckle.
Our friends had planned this outing, but now it was just the two of us-a fact I was secretly grateful for. As the evening went on, I couldn't stop stealing glances at her. Every little movement she made, every smile and laugh, only drew me in further. Finally, as the day was ending, we found ourselves sitting by the river, watching the last rays of sunlight reflect off the water.
Taking a deep breath, I decided it was now or never. I pulled a small box from my pocket, holding it tightly as I called her name. When she looked up, I met her gaze, feeling my nerves build with every second.
"Can I... be your boyfriend?" My voice came out barely above a whisper, and I felt a surge of anxiety, wondering if I'd misread everything. But I couldn't look away. What if she said no? What if she just wanted to be friends?

Her POV:
My heart skipped a beat as he spoke, and for a second, I wondered if I was dreaming. My face felt warm, and I instinctively raised my hands, trying to hide my reaction, but I knew my cheeks were bright red. I nodded, feeling too shy to speak, and when I looked back at him, his face lit up with the biggest smile.
He reached out, pulling me into a tight hug, whispering, "I love you." My heart felt full as I hugged him back, whispering, "I love you too." After a few moments, he pulled back, looking down with a soft smile, and brought out the small box.
"I got you something," he said, opening it to reveal a delicate anklet. My eyes widened as he knelt down, taking my foot gently and fastening the anklet. Then he reached for my other foot, repeating the gesture with care. Looking up at me, he said, "I hope you like it."
I felt my eyes welling up, my chest swelling with emotions I could barely contain. "It's beautiful. I love it," I whispered, wrapping my arms around him in a tight hug, my tears spilling over. "I love you."
