Snippets of Madam Sirr (S1)

Chapter 4

"Yes, madam sir whatever happens, we know that you are always with us. Please stop saying sorry" Cheetah said.

Haseena still couldn't believe them. She knew that no matter what happened, she would never forgive herself for what she did.

"But....I hurt you all. I brought you all lot of pain...." She said looking at everyone, her eyes flowing with tears. "At least punish me to release your anger...."

Pushpa Ji interrupted her. "Madam Sir if you still don't believe us...and you believe that you need to be punished...then do 20 sit-ups while holding your ears..."

SS and Cheetah looked at Puspha Ji with surprise.

Puspha Ji said it as a joke. She never thought that Haseena would engage in what she said. Puspha Ji choked back tears when she saw Haseena, her madam sir doing sit-ups in front of them. The whole team rushed forward and embraced her.

The gnawing pain in her heart seemed to subside after seeing her team return to their usual playful banter. Haseena was thankful that she was gifted with such an amazing team, a family that she always cherished. Haseena knew that her amends was not yet over. She needed to talk with KS.

As they broke off the hug, Haseena's eyes gazed around the station, her eyes looking for the one person she desperately needed to see. Puspha Ji saw Haseena eyeing the station and went near her.

"Madam Sir, I know that you are looking for KS", she said lightly caressing her hand. "Don't worry she will be back."

"Puspha Ji....what if she's angry with me?"

"Madam Sir what's the use of family if we don't get angry" Pushpa Ji said. "What matters most is that we let our anger out and embrace the meaning of family enough to forgive the other. That's what family is, madam sir."

Puspha Ji's words tuned like honey in her ears. She wiped her eyes and set her brows, determined and set. She knew what she had to do.

As soon as KS returned, Haseena called her to the cabin. Haseena looked at KS, who was Haseena's closest friend. Haseena saw the notes of pain crying out in her eyes. She knew that KS was angry with her from the way that she refused to maintain eye contact with Haseena.

"KS, I want to talk to you about something. Can we go out?"

KS was surprised, torn between want and her frustrations. She needed to be back with her madam sir. She needed to restore their friendship. She was tired of how the two broke. Yet, KS thought, there are some pains that cannot be shared.

"No madam sir. I'm sorry. I have work today."

KS managed to blurt out, her heart sinking at each word.

Haseena was distraught. She never believed that KS would turn her down.

"Please, KS. Just for a few hours?"

KS looked at her, directly this time. How could she refuse? She knew that Haseena also felt the same unbearable pain and anguish that KS experienced herself. The least she could do was to give her a chance. KS knew that she owed Haseena, her whole life.

"Yes, Madam Sir. Let's go then."

Haseena smiled looking at the retreating figure of KS. She herself was surprised as to the bond forged between her and KS. They were arguing and confronting each other as enemies during the initial days of her transfer as an SHO at MPT. Haseena had a hard time controlling KS's anger. But now, they were beyond friends, an untitled bond hovered around them, protecting and cherishing them with each second. Haseena floated back to the past where she and KS had a coffee. It was the first time Haseena had seen KS so vulnerable, the first time that KS had fully opened up to her. That, Haseena thought was the start of their friendship. Haseena thought back to KS's resignation letter and how it had broken her down, mentally where she couldn't even imagine the MPT without KS. Haseena strolled back to the present. Puspha Ji was right, she thought. We are a family after all and Haseena was determined to get her family back. She needed her KS back.
