It was the beginning of summer when I decided to move. As much as I loved my mom and her newest boyfriend, Phil, I just didn't like the idea of them. He was far to young for her.
Bella thought they were good for each other.
But I knew mom.
This wouldn't last. Phil wasn't going to give her what she needed. Much like dad hadn't been able to. And then there was his age. She needed someone closer to her own than him, being seven years younger.
Forks Washington wasn't a bad place. I preferred it more than the sunny skies of Arizona.
I would be closer to my old friends. I missed the bonfires and old legends that would drift around for us. The fun that we would get into whenever we'd sneak off.
But had I known that this would bring a world of hurt and a hunter, unlike what I've seen, I would have waited. It would have been different had I known more about this supernatural world.
Maybe I would still have my best friend.
Maybe I would still believe that the cold ones were just a fairytale.
Above everything, maybe I could have saved him.
